Director, Banking (Treasury Management & Payments)
West Monroe is seeking a Director, Treasury Management and Payments to help financial institutions transform commercial banking, treasury management, and payments capabilities. This leader will advise senior executives on growth, operating model, technology, customer experience, risk, and modernization initiatives while leading complex engagements and expanding West Monroe’s presence in the market. Drawing on deep Treasury Management, Payments, and Commercial Banking expertise, this role will shape solutions that create measurable client value while developing teams and advancing our Financial Services practice.
What You Will Do
Client Delivery
Serve as a trusted advisor to senior and C-level executives, helping clients address complex Treasury Management, Payments, and Commercial Banking priorities.
Lead large-scale transformation initiatives spanning operating model, sales effectiveness, product strategy, payments modernization, customer experience, platform modernization, M&A, risk controls, and organizational change.
Provide oversight for engagement scope, staffing, financial performance, risk, quality, and executive communications.
Apply deep industry expertise to translate business needs into practical strategies, operating models, technology roadmaps, and implementation plans.
Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesize complex information, and support data-driven recommendations for clients, exercising sound judgment in evaluating outputs.
Apply AI technologies (e.g., generative AI, automation tools, data models) to enhance insights, improve delivery efficiency, and elevate the quality of client outcomes.
Business Development
Build and expand executive relationships across banks, credit unions, and other financial institutions.
Originate, shape, and close consulting opportunities aligned with Treasury Management, Payments, and Commercial Banking priorities.
Lead solution development, proposals, pricing, negotiations, and executive presentations for complex pursuits.
Develop a strong market presence through industry relationships, thought leadership, conferences, and strategic alliances.
Partner across West Monroe practices to bring integrated business and technology solutions to clients.
Practice Development
Develop and expand Treasury Management and Payments offerings, methodologies, accelerators, and market perspectives.
Mentor and develop consultants and emerging leaders while supporting recruiting and performance development.
Share subject matter expertise across Financial Services and strengthen collaboration across practices and alliance partners.
What You Will Bring
15+ years of Financial Services and/or professional services consulting experience, including significant Treasury Management, Payments, or Commercial Banking leadership experience.
Deep expertise across Treasury Management and Payments products, operations, sales, technology, risk, and customer experience.
Experience leading complex business and technology transformation programs.
Proven success developing executive client relationships, originating opportunities, and contributing to revenue growth.
Experience with commercial banking, treasury management, and payments technologies, including commercial online banking platforms, payment solutions, nCino, CRM platforms, or related financial services technologies.
Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and executive presentation skills.
Experience integrating AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) into day-to-day workflows to enhance productivity and insight generation, coupled with strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, mitigate bias, and ensure high-quality outputs.
Ability to travel 25 to 50%.

Based on pay transparency guidelines, a reasonable expectation for the salary range for this role is listed below. Information on our competitive total rewards package, including our bonus structure and benefits is here. Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity. Employees in proximity of our Seattle, Washington DC, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco offices will have a geographic premium applied to this salary scale.
