Devops Architect
Project Overview:
The DevOps Architect is responsible for defining and implementing the organization's DevOps strategy, cloud architecture, automation frameworks, CI/CD platforms, infrastructure-as-code standards, and operational excellence initiatives. This role serves as the technical authority for deployment automation, cloud-native architecture, platform reliability, observability, security, and engineering productivity.
The DevOps Architect partners with Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, QA, Product Management, and Operations teams to design scalable, secure, and resilient technology platforms that accelerate software delivery while maintaining operational stability and governance.
Key Responsibilities:
DevOps Strategy & Architecture
Define and execute enterprise DevOps and platform engineering strategies.
Design end-to-end CI/CD architectures supporting multiple applications and environments.
Establish DevOps standards, patterns, frameworks, and best practices across teams.
Lead modernization initiatives including cloud transformation, GitOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and Platform Engineering.
Cloud & Infrastructure Architecture
Architect scalable cloud solutions across Azure cloud environments.
Design high-availability, disaster recovery, and multi-region deployment strategies.
Define infrastructure standards for networking, security, storage, compute, and container platforms.
Drive infrastructure optimization initiatives focused on performance, resilience, and cost management.
Automation & CI/CD
Design and implement automated build, test, deployment, and release pipelines.
Standardize deployment processes using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or similar tools.
Create reusable automation frameworks and deployment templates.
Eliminate manual operational activities through intelligent automation.
Platform Engineering & Containerization
Architect Kubernetes, AKS, and container-based platforms.
Define deployment standards for microservices, APIs, and cloud-native applications.
Implement ADO practices and self-service engineering platforms.
Establish platform scalability and reliability frameworks.
Reliability Engineering & Observability
Define SRE practices, SLIs, SLOs, and operational KPIs.
Architect enterprise observability solutions using monitoring, logging, and tracing platforms.
Improve system availability, performance, and incident response capabilities.
Lead root cause analysis and continuous service improvement initiatives.
Security & Compliance
Embed DevSecOps controls throughout software development and deployment processes.
Implement security scanning, vulnerability management, secrets management, and policy enforcement.
Ensure compliance with organizational, regulatory, and audit requirements.
Collaborate with security teams to establish secure engineering practices.
Technical Leadership
Mentor engineers, architects, and DevOps teams.
Provide architectural guidance for complex engineering initiatives.
Conduct architecture reviews and technical governance sessions.
Drive engineering excellence and continuous improvement across delivery teams.
Stakeholder Management
Align technical solutions with strategic business objectives.
Present architecture roadmaps and transformation initiatives to leadership.
Collaborate with product, engineering, infrastructure, and operations teams.
Support executive decision-making through technical assessments and recommendations.
