Job Summary
We're looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our growing team. You'll be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining our data infrastructure and pipelines. You'll work with large, complex datasets to empower our analysts, and business stakeholders to make data-driven decisions that shape the future of our company. 🚀
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable, and reliable ETL/ELT data pipelines.
Develop data models and schemas in our data warehouse to support business analytics and reporting needs.
Integrate data from a variety of sources, including third-party APIs, internal databases, and streaming platforms.
Implement processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available.
Collaborate with analysts, business stakeholders and software engineers to understand data requirements and provide clean, accessible datasets.
Optimise and improve the performance of our data architecture and pipelines.
Contribute to our team’s best practices for data engineering and facilitate knowledge sharing within the wider team.
Required Skills & Qualifications
3+ years of hands-on experience in a data engineering role
Strong proficiency in SQL and Python
Strong experience with AWS (Batch, Lambda, Glue, ECR, RDS, Redshift, S3)
Experience in data warehousing, database design (e.g., star schema, snowflake schema), and data modelling.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions)
Experience with containerisation technologies like Docker
Able to leverage AI coding assistants (e.g. Claude) professionally and productively.
Desirable
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation
Able to resolve a connection issue within BI and data visualisation tools like Power BI
