As a Copy Monk you’ll:

Wield words, wisdom and wit on behalf of our client, who looks to us for big-picture thinking, direct partnership, and creative production of digital campaigns and social content.

Research and write stories that engage our client’s prospects, readers, and subscribers through compelling articles and case studies.

Develop concepts and copy for content that gives marketers access to emerging online behaviors, shares insights from leading marketers and campaigns, and simplifies the technological innovations marketers need to understand.

Present ideas and build client relationships with moxie, aplomb, and humanity.

Lead the copy conversation with clients; proactively respond to feedback in person and in writing; follow up with creative and account teams throughout the project.

Explore ways to help your clients beyond the immediate scope and think strategically about their bigger needs.

Track industry trends and pitch stories relevant to the client’s readership and editorial strategy.

Ensure copy is well-crafted, engaging, consistent, and aligned with brand objectives.

Requirements

You have 5+ years professional writing experience in a marketing or journalism capacity is mandatory.

You can craft amazing stories out of thin air, based on briefs, interviews, trends, and from drafts written by others.

You combine creative writing with critical thinking; your analytical approach enables you to ask the right questions and waterproof ideas from concept through final draft.

You can share a strong portfolio showcasing your work across multiple formats (digital, video, social, etc.) is required.

You have experience writing within brand voice, tone, and style guides ensuring consistent language across multiple touchpoints.

You are a detail-oriented and organized person who never misses a deadline, a dangling participle or an Oxford comma.

You have an ability to adapt quickly, compromise when necessary, and follow editorial leads with equal confidence and humility.

You demonstrate communication skills, both written and verbal.

You work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment both in office and remotely.

You’re able to clearly communicate concepts through mocks and decks when pitching work to stakeholders and directors.

You can  work under the pressure of tight deadlines, changing priorities, and quick turns to keep content fresh.
