Contracts Manager
The IT Contracts Manager is responsible for the governance and lifecycle management of all technology-related contracts, ensuring that supplier agreements support the airline’s operational, regulatory and transformation objectives. This role plays a critical part in managing commercial risk, ensuring compliance with standards and driving value from technology vendors across areas such as cloud services, software licensing, infrastructure and outsourced IT services.
The Contracts Manager will work closely with the legal department to Develop and improve contract templates, playbooks and processes, ensure that legal processes are adhered to, identify gaps where needed and support any related ongoing improvement initiatives.
Please note this is a hybrid position and you'll be expected to work from our customer's Dublin office 3 times per week.
Key responsibilities & duties include:
With support from EI Legal, negotiate and manage commercial terms including pricing, renewals, auto-renew controls, uplifts, service credits, warranties, and termination/exit provisions.
Partner with Legal to ensure contracts appropriately address data protection, confidentiality, IP, liability/indemnities, audit rights, and regulatory obligations.
Coordinate with IT Cyber, Privacy, and Risk teams to support supplier due diligence and ensure security requirements are captured in contracts and statements of work.
Manage software and cloud subscription renewals; build forward-looking renewal calendars and provide options (renew, re-compete, consolidate, or retire).
Maintain accurate contract records, metadata, and key obligations in the contract management system or repository; ensure version control and audit readiness.
Support vendor performance governance (SLAs/KPIs), contract compliance, and issue resolution; track disputes and drive timely remediation.
Collaborate with Procurement/IT stakeholders on sourcing events (RFP/RFQ), statements of work, and purchase documents to align scope, deliverables, acceptance criteria, and payment milestones.
Monitor spend, commitments, and savings; contribute to budgeting/forecasting by providing renewal and consumption insights.
In conjunction with Legal dept, support the development and improve contract templates, playbooks, and processes; train stakeholders on contracting best practices and policy adherence.
Advising stakeholders on approval processes, contract structure, policy compliance and risk.
Act as a primary contact for business owners for contract management issues Act as a primary contact managing contract workflow.
The Contracts Manager will work with EI Legal to (a) develop and maintain standard contract playbooks/templates and self-service checklists (with defined escalation) enabling the business to progress low risk template based contracts more efficiently within agreed guardrails, and apply these in day-to-day contracting to build out /develop and improve contract templates, playbooks, and processes; and (b) and deliver training to business stakeholders in the Tech team on the use of templates, checklists and escalation thresholds.
The role will act as principal point of contact for Tech with the legal team.
The role will support Tech with forward-planning for contract renewals and new vendors / contracts.
Required Experience:
Relevant third-level qualification in Business, Law, Procurement, Finance, IT, or equivalent practical experience.
Significant experience in IT contract management, vendor management, procurement, or commercial management (software, cloud, infrastructure, telecoms, or managed services).
Demonstrated experience supporting or leading contract negotiations, renewals, and change controls.
Working knowledge of key contract concepts (MSA/SOW structures, SLAs, indemnities, confidentiality, audit rights, termination/exit).
Capable of translating complex terms into clear guidance for non-specialists.
Comfortable managing multiple concurrent renewals, escalations, and governance tasks.
