Compensation Consultant

Location: Palo Alto, CA | Reports to: Director of Global Compensation

Core Responsibilities

Organizational Consulting: Serve as the primary compensation partner for assigned business units, guiding decisions on offers, job adjustments, retention strategies, and policy updates.

Executive Compensation: Lead end-to-end benchmarking, scoping, total rewards recommendations, and annual VP comp review process including custom templates, communication, presentation prep and modeling for CEO review, input, and approval.

Analytics & Program Health: Conduct routine compensation health audits, ESPP program modeling/analysis, additional equity program reviews (as backup), cross-functional analyses ,and annual performance cycle roll-ups. Lead the quarterly organizational scorecard process.

Enablement & Roadmap: Drive the compensation education roadmap, developing training materials and intranet resources in partnership with TA, HRBPs, and the Compensation team.

Compensation Planning: Support annual compensation planning efforts for assigned organizations and lead Rubrik-wide mid-year promotion process.

Cross-Functional Partnership

Talent Acquisition: Partner to design creative, market-competitive offer strategies for candidates.

Business Leadership: Consult directly with HRBPs and executives to guide compensation outcomes using data-driven models and recommendations.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with FP&A, Stock Admin, Tax, Legal, Audit, Immigration and Communications teams.

Qualifications

Experience: 7+ years in broad-based compensation (market analysis, VP/exec comp, equity, and consulting), with at least 3 years in high-tech and supporting technical functions.

Education: BA/BS degree in Business, HR, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in data modeling and presentation tools (Excel, Google Sheets, PowerPoint, Google Slides) with strong AI/Automation skills.  Extensive experience with Google Workspace preferred.

Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical ability, high attention to detail, and strong communication skills to drive decisions in a fast-paced environment.

The minimum and maximum base salaries for this role are posted below; additionally, the role is eligible for bonus potential, equity and benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the role based on U.S. location. Within the range, the salary offered will be determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US Pay Range

$148,400—$222,600 USD
