About the Team
The New Verticals Business Development team is a small, fast-paced, high-performing group responsible for establishing, managing and scaling new lines of business at DoorDash in the retail and logistics space.
About the Role
As an Associate Manager, Emerging Retail Partnerships, you will take ownership of a portfolio of third party logistics (3PL) and enterprise retail partners, including some of the top shippers in the US. This role gets you in at the ground floor of one of DoorDash's fastest-growing new bets, focused on parcel logistics, and lets you operate at a startup pace with regular access to senior leadership and the backing of an established public company. You will report to the Manager of Retail Partnerships in our Merchant Business Development organization.

Manage and cultivate a book of business spanning third-party logistics and enterprise retail partners, managing relationships with some of the top shippers in the US to drive step-change growth for DoorDash
Serve as the day-to-day lead for a portfolio of strategic partners, developing a deep understanding of their business goals and challenges and building solutions to meet them
Lead contract renewals, upsells and cross-sells with minimal oversight, negotiating outcomes that benefit both partners and DoorDash
Proactively identify growth opportunities across your portfolio that drive revenue, delivery volume and new strategic opportunities
Shape the product roadmap and go-to-market strategy for the Parcel business, drawing on partner feedback, industry trends and your market knowledge
Partner with senior stakeholders across Operations, Legal, Finance, Marketing and Product to align on strategy and negotiate complex enterprise partnerships
Inform growth and revenue goals and advise on the resources needed to hit them, with regular visibility to DoorDash's senior leadership
We're excited about you because…
You have 8+ years experience in early stage business development, account management, client success, or strategic partnerships in technology or high growth / early stage startups
You have a Bachelor's degree
You have experience negotiating/building commercial deals and partnerships
You have retail, ecommerce, or logistics industry experience
You are entrepreneurially minded with a nose for opportunity and risk
You are comfortable making decisions based on imperfect data
You are a collaborator, and consensus builder
You set and communicate clear visions and strategies for your teams
You are naturally optimistic, but not blinded by conviction
You cultivate mutually beneficial relationships
Compensation
The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.
In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.
For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (e.g. about 6.7 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 3.4 hours/month if working 20 hours/week), and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (e.g. about 5.8 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 2.9 hours/month if working 20 hours/week).
The national base pay range for this position within the United States, including Illinois and Colorado.
$110,600—$162,800 USD
