This is a full-time, in-person role at our Woburn, MA office. We are ideally seeking someone who can start in January 2027.
Are you interested in exploring the future of wireless communications and gaining hands-on experience with next generation 5G technologies? At STR, interns work alongside experienced engineers and software developers on meaningful projects that address challenging technical problems related to national security.
Our internship program gives you the opportunity to gain practical engineering experience, learn from experienced mentors, and develop skills in open-source software, Linux-based networking, and wireless communications. You’ll work in a collaborative engineering environment while contributing to the development and integration of emerging 5G technologies.
As part of the intelligence team, you’ll help establish and maintain a 5G Standalone (SA) Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN) test bed using open-source software, including the Linux Foundation’s O-CU/DU and complementary components. You’ll gain hands-on experience configuring network and RAN components, integrating core-network systems, automating test-bed deployments, and troubleshooting interoperability challenges.
