USA Regional Transportation Security Lead
The role
Nebius is seeking an experienced and operationally focused USA Regional Transportation Security Lead to support and strengthen in-transit supply chain security operations across the United States. This is a senior individual contributor role, sitting directly beneath the USA Regional Transportation Security Manager and serving as the primary operational executor for transportation security across the US network.
The Lead is responsible for the hands-on delivery of transportation security across US shipment lanes, owning day-to-day operational execution, conducting route and carrier assessments, managing active shipment monitoring, and responding to in-transit security incidents. Where the USA Regional Transportation Security Manager holds regional strategic ownership, the Lead owns the operational ground, ensuring that security controls are applied consistently, shipments move securely, and any deviations are identified and resolved with speed and precision.
This role requires regular travel across the United States for carrier engagements, route assessments, and incident response. It is well suited to a security professional with strong field experience who thrives in a fast-paced, operationally intense environment and takes personal ownership of outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include:
Operational Transportation Security Execution
Execute day-to-day transportation security operations across US shipment lanes in support of the USA Regional Transportation Security Manager
Ensure the secure handling, packaging, and movement of high-value assets across all US transportation nodes, from origin handover through to final delivery
Monitor active US shipments in real time, using GPS tracking, geofencing, and monitoring platforms tomaintain situational awareness and detect anomalies
Conduct pre-shipment security checks, verifying that packaging, sealing, tamper-evidence measures, and documentation meet NGSCS standards before assets enter transit
Oversee handover and transfer points across the US transportation network, ensuring chain of custody protocols are followed at every stage
Maintainaccurate and up-to-date operational records, shipment logs, and chain of custody documentation
Route & Carrier Assessment
Conduct security assessments of transportation routes across the United States,identifying vulnerabilities, high-risk segments, and improvement opportunities
Assess carrier and last-mile provider security practices on the ground, verifying compliance with NGSCS transportation security requirements
Support the USA Regional Transportation Security Manager in evaluating new carriers and routes, providing operational intelligence from field assessments
Identify emerging route risks or threat patterns and escalate findings promptly with recommended mitigations
Incident Response & Escalation
Serve as the first operational responder to in-transit security incidents across the US, including theft, loss, diversion, tampering, and chain of custody breaches
Coordinate immediate incident response actions, liaising with carriers,logistics partners, and internal NGSCS stakeholders
Document incidents thoroughly and accurately, supporting investigation and post-incident review processes
Escalate complex or high-severity incidents to the USA Regional Transportation Security Manager with clear situational updates and recommended actions
Partner Engagement & Standards Enforcement
Engage directly with carriers, freight forwarders, and last-mile providers across the US to reinforce NGSCS transportation security requirements
Identify compliance gaps during field engagements and work with partners to drivetimely corrective action
Support the onboarding of new transportation partners by conducting operational security checks and verifying readiness against NGSCS standards
Act as a visible NGSCS presence in the field, reinforcing the message that security standards are non-negotiable
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Provide regular operational updates and field intelligence to the USA Regional Transportation Security Manager
Contribute to the development and refinement of US transportation security procedures, drawing on field observations and operational experience
Identify recurring operational risks or process weaknesses and propose practical improvements
Support regional reporting on transportation security performance, risks, and incident trends
Operational Scope
US-wide transportation security operations, covering all active shipment lanes, carrier relationships, and last-mile delivery activity in the region, including domestic and cross-border lanes
Senior individual contributor — no direct reports;operates with a high degree of autonomy under the direction of the USA Regional Transportation Security Manager
Regular travel across the United Statesrequired for route assessments, carrier visits, shipment oversight, and incident response
We expect you to have:
Significant hands-on experience in transportation security, logistics security, or in-transit supply chain operations
Strong operational background with proven ability to execute security controls across complex, multi-leg transportation movements
Experience conducting route assessments, carrier security evaluations, or field-based compliance checks
Demonstrated experience responding to in-transit security incidents, including immediate coordination and post-incident documentation
Highly detail-oriented with strong discipline around chain of custody documentation and operational records
Able to operate independently in the field with strong situational awareness and sound judgment under pressure
Good communication and coordination skills across internal teams and external logistics partners
It will be an added bonus if you have:
Experience in high-value or critical infrastructure transportation security (e.g., data centers, electronics, AI hardware, technology hardware)
Background in law enforcement, military, or corporate security with a field operations focus
Familiarity with TAPA TSR or equivalent transportation security standards
Familiarity with supply chain security technologies (e.g., GPS tracking, geofencing, real-time shipment monitoring platforms, tamper-evident sealing)
Experience operating across multiple US states or regions in a logistics or security operations capacity
Operational Expectations
This is a field-intensive role requiring regular travel across the United States and a high degree of personal presence in the operational environment
In-transit security incidents may occur outside standard working hours and require immediate response and availability
Operates within a global NGSCS environment requiring coordination across multiple time zones when engaging with global teams
Works closely with and directly supports the USA Regional Transportation Security Manager, with clear individual accountability for operational execution outcomes

We offer competitive compensation and benefits packages. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including experience, skills, qualifications, the level at which the candidate is hired, and geographic location, consistent with applicable law.
Base Compensation Range
$85,900—$107,300 USD
