PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Transportation Coordinator II provides front line support to the Transportation Analysts and Transportation Manager, coordinating shipments and maintaining system data so rates and transit times stay accurate.
PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Enters shipments into the Transportation Management System, TMS.
Tracks and traces shipments in transit and resolves issues as they arise.
Coordinates Large Scale project shipments from import through delivery to site.
Handles tasks and projects with a higher level of complexity.
Provides training and direction to Transportation Coordinators.
Tracks KPIs for bill of lading and label creation, and for freight quotes provided to the sales organization.
Provides rate quotes.
Maintains records of items transported, and reports on delivery times and delays.
Acts as liaison between customers and carriers to keep shipments moving smoothly.
Supports TMS maintenance to keep rates and transit times accurate.
Supports customs related activities as needed.
Other duties as may be required or assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED.
At least 2 years of experience in a coordination or administrative role.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.
Proficiency in written and verbal English.
Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer service focus.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in a transportation or logistics department.
Experience with SAP or a Transportation Management System.
Creative thinking, problem solving, and organizational skills.
Extent of responsibility: Regional.
