Role: Technical Line Producer

Role Status: Full Time Contractor

Contractor Location: Remote w/ Travel

Reports To: Director, Publisher Operations

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Technical Line Producer is responsible for reviewing the financial performance of complex programs across multiple activations.  They will develop and ensure that program processes are followed, and maintain a macro-level view of financial health across the program. You will be comfortable managing up and down, monitoring budgets to ensure they meet client expectations. You will work alongside production disciplines established by the publisher operations team to ensure all budgets are aligned with requirements and operate as efficiently as possible. The Technical Line producer will need the confidence to challenge operational norms to ensure we operate as efficiently as possible, while ensuring every department has the tools required to meet our high standards and deliver the best show. The Technical Line Producer will also manage and organise the analysis of historical budgets and compare them with recent budgets to identify potential cost savings.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Review and analyse large-scale, complex, and strategic live event production budgets, serving as a senior-level owner of multiple programs.

Evaluate vendor quotes; work with our internal procurement team and negotiate where appropriate.

Track spend throughout the project lifecycle to ensure cost control,  financial accuracy, approvals, and margin protection.

Manage change requests and assess technical and financial impact.

Act as a liaison between external and internal stakeholders; identify risks, monitor potential scope creep, and work with multiple project teams to be proactive, discover, and convey relevant updates.

Drive day-to-day financial tracking and reporting from multiple IPs.

Create and manage project roadmaps, workback schedules, and task and milestone reports, and communicate project health to the internal project and leadership groups.

Lead and manage internal budget reviews, including historical events, and create detailed financial reports for senior management to review with the goal of suggesting savings.

Identify, implement, and maintain best practices related to project execution, financial tracking, stakeholder management, and communication.

Collaborate with Creative, Production Managers, Operations, Finance as well as external partners to keep them informed of expectations within budget scope.

Suggest efficiency improvements in production workflows.

WHAT WE NEED TO SEE

5+ years of experience with large, complex live event productions

5+ years of proven experience in managing a project or initiatives from start to finish

5+ years of experience building and managing budgets at a large scale, including tracking budget health and reconciliation

High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, including advanced spreadsheet management and data manipulation

Strong ability to analyse, organise and reconcile large datasets with accuracy

Comfortable working with financial data and understanding how operational decisions impact the company's P&L

Foundational knowledge of financial principles, including margin vs. markup, COGS, operating expenses, internal cost allocation, and revenue tracking

Ability to interpret financial reports and translate data into clear operational insights

Experience reconciling budgets, forecasts and actuals against financial systems

Familiarity with SAP systems is highly desirable

Proficient experience in large-scale projects with the ability to lead without authority

Experience working with third-party partners and vendors

Deep knowledge of live event and studio production

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

Excellent organisational and leadership skills with a strong attention to detail

A natural problem solver who can adapt to shifting priorities
