Role Summary

The Production Manager is the operational driving force responsible for the end-to-end planning, leadership, accountability and live execution of our regional & global esports events and broadcasts. This is a high accountability, program leadership position designed for a self-directed production professional. While this role does not involve line-managing direct reports, it demands complete project level authority, total ownership of program lifecycles, and the confidence to command cross functional teams in every instance.

Balancing self-management with supervisor alignment, you will scope complex live events from the ground up, build detailed production budgets using established templates, fully own vendor relationships, and lead client interactions with complete confidence. Secondary responsibilities include supporting studio based broadcasts and coordinating general technical logistics alongside specialised Engineering teams. You are someone who operates under the firm belief that "if you haven't personally verified it's done, it isn't done." You drive project roadmaps, eliminate bottlenecks before they occur, and deliver world class live events on schedule and on budget.

This position is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, requiring permanent on-site attendance at our studio, with periodic travel (up to 30%) across Southeast Asia and internationally for live event activations.

Key Responsibilities

Scope complex live event productions from scratch, translating high-level concepts and client requirements into executable, end to end production roadmaps without needing step by step guidance.

Build comprehensive production budgets, managing all production related spend, negotiating with suppliers, and maintaining total financial control through post event reconciliation.

Fully own third party supplier, rental house, and service provider relationships, leading RFP processes, setting quality standards, and holding vendors strictly accountable to deliverables.

Act as the vocal, assertive operational lead for your projects, leading client meetings with confidence, articulating production plans clearly, and projecting complete reliability to external and internal stakeholders.

Relentlessly enforce project timelines, holding cross functional teams (Broadcast, Creative, IT, Logistics) accountable to milestones and following up meticulously on all outstanding deliverables.

Maintain complete transparency across centralised team communication channels (monday.com, Slack, Google Workspace), ensuring all project updates, budget adjustments, and operational notes are shared with full context.

Oversee on-site event execution, supervising setups, rehearsals, live shows, and teardown phases with a focus on discipline, quality control, and schedule adherence.

Support studio-based broadcast productions and studio scheduling as secondary operational requirements, ensuring seamless alignment between studio activities and live event calendars.

Liaise with Engineering and Technical teams to ensure general technical requirements, stage layouts, and broadcast needs are integrated into overall project planning.

Conduct thorough post event debriefs, financial reporting, and operational wrap ups to drive continuous process improvement across regional operations.

Role Requirements

Minimum 3+ years of experience in live event production management, broadcast project management, or live entertainment operations.

Demonstrated experience scoping live event projects from scratch and building production budgets.

Proven track record of owning vendor relationships, negotiating commercial agreements, and managing external suppliers and specialised freelance pools.

Relevant tertiary education, qualification, or training in a related field.

A proactive, assertive mindset with total project ownership and the ability to drive projects forward independently.

Willingness to work flexible hours (including evenings and weekends) aligned with live production schedules, and travel periodically (up to 30%) both domestically and internationally.
