The role

As a Technical Engineer, you are passionate about experience innovation and eager to push the boundaries of what’s possible. You bring 6+ of experience, a growth mindset and a drive to make a lasting impact.

Role responsibilities

Provide day-to-day service management for real-time fraud detection and the bank's centralised audit database, required for SOX compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Subject Matter Expertise - Develop deep working knowledge of Banks (Retail & Corporate) applications, their services, batch jobs, and integration points.

Incident & Problem Management - Monitor and manage incidents in ServiceNow, ensuring timely triage, escalation, and resolution across both platforms.

Proactive Monitoring - Oversee Pre-Production and Production environments during working hours using Dynatrace, Kibana, and other monitoring tools to catch issues early.

Drive Best Practices - Apply ITIL Service Management principles to continuously improve incident, problem, and change processes.

Out-of-Hours Support - Participate in planned out of hours patching and change activities (~2-3 times per month), coordinating with Unix, DBA, and infrastructure teams to minimise disruption.

Obsolescence & Migration Support - Contribute to strategic infrastructure programmes including:

• Application replatforming from RHEL 7.9 to RHEL 9 and removal of legacy clustering

• General obsolescence such as RHEL 7.9-> 8 updates or RabbitMQ/IBM MQ upgrades

Must have qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:

IT Service Management experience in financial services or a regulated environment

Strong ITIL knowledge (Incident, Problem, Change Management)

ServiceNow experience

Familiarity with Linux/RHEL and on-premises hosting

Comfortable with periodic and planned out-of-hours working

Strong stakeholder management across multiple technical teams

Nice to have qualifications

Elasticsearch, Kibana, Dynatrace, or equivalent monitoring tools

Message queue technologies (IBM MQ, RabbitMQ)

Batch scheduling (Control-M)

Mainframe technologies (DB2 z/OS) or mainframe migration experience

Oracle Exadata / Oracle databases

SOX compliance and audit controls

Fraud detection/prevention domain knowledge
