About the team

- Plaid's Strategic Finance team plays a critical role in shaping our long-term business strategy and execution.

- The Strategic Finance team helps provide analytical rigor and data-driven insights to drive success across the entire organization.

- The Strategic Finance team's purpose is to support Plaid in achieving its short-term and long-term strategic & financial goals and help inform, articulate, and shape Plaid's growth trajectory.

About the role

You will own core pieces of Plaid's top-line revenue forecast and go beyond the number itself to understand what's actually driving it: internal data and external market factors that show how healthy and durable that growth is. You'll work day-to-day with our GTM organization, turning that analysis into insights they can act on. You are highly analytical and quantitative, comfortable building bottom-up from raw data as well as using Plaid's existing tools and dashboards to sanity-check the picture, and skilled at moving between complex modeling detail and the bigger picture it tells.

Responsibilities

- Own core pieces of Plaid's top-line revenue forecast, building and refining the models and processes that turn what's happening in the business into an accurate, forward-looking number.

- Go beyond the forecast itself to explain what's driving it: internal data and external market/macro factors that show how healthy and durable that growth is, while pushing the underlying process to be more automated and scalable over time.

- Partner day-to-day with our GTM organization, turning forecasting and analytics work into insights that shape their planning and decisions.

- Own recurring KPI and variance reporting cadences for key stakeholders (from day-to-day dashboards to quarterly Board materials), surfacing risks and opportunities early.

- Help recruit and grow a strong Strategic Finance team at Plaid.

Qualifications

- 4-6 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or FP&A/strategic finance, ideally including time at a high-growth technology company.

- Strong quantitative and analytical mindset, with the data fluency to work directly with large datasets (via SQL, AI tools, or both) and the judgment to build and validate financial models and workflows using them.

- Strong financial modeling, communication, and presentation skills.

- Comfortable working through moderately complex, ambiguous problems, distilling them into structured frameworks and actionable insights, with good judgment about when to loop in a manager or teammate rather than push forward alone.

- Demonstrated ability to build trusted cross-functional relationships and drive alignment on financial targets.

- Proficiency with core financial and GTM systems; Pigment, Tableau, or similar FP&A/BI tool experience is a plus.
