About the Role

We're hiring a Staff Software Engineer with strong engineering fundamentals, hands-on experience building AI solutions, developer tooling, and automation to make AI a practical, measurable part of how teams build and ship software.

What You'll Do

Design and build internal tools, automations, and integrations that remove friction from daily engineering work.

Own and improve core developer workflows: local development environments, code review, testing, CI/CD, and release processes.

Instrument developer toolchains to measure cycle time, build reliability, deployment frequency, and other engineering effectiveness signals.

Build and maintain shared templates, plugins, CLI tools, and guardrails that make common engineering patterns repeatable and safe.

Evaluate and integrate new tools, including AI-assisted development tools, based on measurable impact to team velocity and code quality.

Partner with engineers, leads, and managers to identify bottlenecks and improve how teams collaborate and ship.

Define best practices for scalable, measurable developer tooling across the SDLC.

What You'll Bring

5+ years of software engineering experience, operating at a senior or staff level.

Hands-on experience building AI solutions such as agents, LLM-powered workflows, or similar, beyond isolated prototypes.

Experience building internal developer tools, workflow automation, or platform capabilities used by multiple teams.

A track record of operationalizing AI tools across an engineering org.

Strong grasp of developer productivity, SDLC workflows, and engineering enablement.

Experience with telemetry, instrumentation, or analytics for workflow behavior and adoption.

Strong hands-on scripting and automation skills.

Experience with CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and modern engineering toolchains.

Nice to Have

Hands-on experience with Claude Code, Cursor, or similar AI coding tools.

Experience designing agentic systems, prompt engineering, or LLM orchestration frameworks.

Experience building CLIs, developer portals, reusable templates, or self-service platforms.

Observability tooling (Datadog, Sentry, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, or New Relic).

Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, and microservice-based systems.

Must be based in Vancouver

Pay Range

$131,000—$164,000 CAD
