Staff Product Designer, Login and MFA (Auth0)
The Team
Our Login and MFA team owns the most consequential surface in software: the exact moment someone proves who they are. Getting this right means designing security that's invisible when it works, flows that guide without friction, and experiences that people trust without thinking twice. We're looking for a designer who obsesses over the details that make that possible.
You'll join a distributed and diverse team of designers who see design as both craft and catalyst. We believe design is never static, it evolves with our users, our products, and our own curiosity. Some days that means diving deep into research and validation, others it's refining existing flows, and often it's imagining bold new ways to move our product forward.
Our team thrives on collaboration and feedback. We learn from one another, challenge ourselves to raise the bar, and create space to experiment and grow. Designers here have real ownership, influencing product direction alongside engineering and product management while shaping experiences that reach millions of people worldwide.
If you're energized by complex problems, motivated to push boundaries, and eager to hone your craft while making a lasting impact, this is the place to do it.
The Role
As a Staff Product Designer, you'll tackle some of the hardest design challenges in identity: making authentication seamless for end users while remaining powerful and configurable for the developers who build on it. You'll lead design across Auth0's key login and multi factor authentication flows by guiding strategy and raising the craft.
What you'll be doing
When everyone on the team can generate UI, the designer's role shifts. You become the person responsible for strong systems thinking, taste, quality, experience, and being the voice of the customer. You hold the quality bar when speed is pushing everything toward "fine."
Prototype at volume: Use AI tools and code to explore dozens of directions fast, then narrow based on what works and what solves the actual problem. The artifacts you create will be functional and inclusive of all Auth0 developer interfaces.
Simplify complexity: Shape intuitive, scalable experiences for our customers with high standards for security and composability. You'll be designing customization journeys that make secure and frictionless authentication seamless.
Raise the craft: Help the broader design org see what this way of working looks like in practice. We're all figuring this out together. You'll take pride in expanding your contributions through code and research-driven insights.
What you'll bring to the role
You have craft: This matters most. Considered typography, intentional spacing, polished micro-interactions, details that show someone genuinely cared. We're looking for someone with a refined sense of design taste and a deep appreciation for the details that create a polished, trustworthy experience.
You build: You've established a mature AI workflow that helps you bring ideas to life quickly. Instead of letting the backlog of small design debt collect, you take action and fix things directly in code.
You have a real AI practice: Not experimentation, but an actual workflow. You have opinions about where AI tools help and where they fall short.
You simplify: Auth0 is a robust and composable product. It is your job to create clarity and moments of magic amidst the complexity.
Note for when applying
In your application, please include a link to your portfolio with password (if protected). We prioritize a review of your design craft and any examples of your work in code.
