Sr. People Business Partner
The Senior People Business Partner partners with ServiceTrade leaders to help them lead stronger teams and make better people decisions.
Reporting to the Director, Talent - This role focuses on manager enablement, performance, talent development, organizational effectiveness, and employee relations, while helping improve the People programs and processes that support the business.
Just as important, this is the person who makes ServiceTrade's People Manager Success Factors real for the leaders they support — coaching managers to assess and recognize great talent, manage people risk before it becomes a crisis, translate strategy into work their teams actually understand, keep raising the bar instead of settling, and execute through their people instead of around them. It's how our managers lead in practice, not just in a training deck — and it's what keeps values like Customer Obsessed, Resilient, and Evolving (yes, even a little Weird) alive day to day, not just on a wall.
We're looking for someone who works independently, asks good questions, uses sound judgment, and brings thoughtful recommendations to leaders.
Why ServiceTrade:
You’ll belong here from the start.
We bring together kind, curious people with diverse perspectives and trust them with meaningful work. You’ll have ownership, clarity, and support to solve real problems, make a visible impact for our customers, and continue growing as your role evolves.
About You:
You build strong relationships with leaders and are someone they involve early when working through a people or organizational decision.
You are comfortable working through ambiguity and figuring out what is really driving an issue.
You know when an established process is helpful and when the situation calls for a more tailored approach.
You bring a point of view and recommendation, while staying open to additional context.
You balance empathy with clear expectations and accountability.
You can recognize when a challenge is organizational or structural rather than purely a People issue.
You handle sensitive information with care and communicate directly.
You use AI thoughtfully to make preparation, analysis, and administrative work more efficient while keeping human judgment at the center.
Key Responsibilities and Activities:
Talent Management, Performance & Succession
Lead Talent Review and calibration discussions and help leaders make thoughtful, consistent talent decisions.
Support promotion decisions and identify broader patterns in performance and talent data.
Partner with leaders on succession planning and retention risk.
Help turn Talent Review outcomes into development, performance, succession, and staffing actions.
Learning & Development
Partner with leaders to identify development needs across their teams
Help translate performance, Talent Reviews, and succession insights into practical development actions
Support manager development programs and leadership learning initiatives
Facilitate or co-facilitate manager sessions, workshops, and team development conversations
Recommend development approaches that are practical, relevant to the business, and easy for managers to apply
People Data & Insights
Use engagement, performance, retention, and workforce data to help leaders understand what is happening in their organizations.
Identify patterns and questions worth exploring and bring recommendations when appropriate.
Use data as a starting point for discussion while incorporating business context before drawing conclusions.
Program & Process Ownership
Own assigned People programs and processes end to end, including execution, measurement, and improvement.
Look for opportunities to simplify and improve how work gets done.
Keep documentation current and ensure ownership is clear.
AI-Enabled Ways of Working
Use AI to improve preparation, synthesis, analysis, and documentation where appropriate.
Look for repeatable ways AI can make People workflows more efficient and effective.
Apply sound judgment to AI outputs and ensure employment decisions remain human-led.
Knowledge and Skills:
8–10+ years of progressive human resources / business partner experience, including direct ownership of complex employee relations, performance management, and organizational design.
Proven experience partnering directly with Directors, Senior Managers, and Managers on people and organizational issues preferably in a SaaS or high-growth technology company
Strong employee relations and performance management judgment, including experience handling complex or sensitive situations independently.
Solid working knowledge of employment law.
Experience supporting or facilitating manager and leadership development, including translating business or talent needs into practical learning experiences.
Experience with Talent Review, calibration, succession planning, or other talent-management processes.
Comfortable using people data to identify patterns, ask better questions, and support leader decisions.
Experience owning People programs or processes from planning through creativity, execution and improvement.
Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to navigate difficult conversations clearly and thoughtfully.
Comfortable working in ambiguity and bringing a recommendation rather than waiting for direction.
Willingness and ability to use AI as part of day-to-day work to improve preparation, analysis, documentation, and efficiency.
Comfortable working across a modern SaaS tech stack, including tools such as Slack, Notion, and Lattice.
