Role summary

Databricks is seeking a Senior Counsel to scale our international Public Sector compliance program by providing practical, risk-balanced compliance and integrity advice for priority EMEA and other international markets. In this role you will partner closely with our in-region Public Sector contracting legal team and cross-functional stakeholders to enable responsible growth, and develop scalable guidance that works across jurisdictions.  You will also localize other elements of our global compliance program, advising in-region business teams and leading investigations as needed in compliance with local requirements.

The impact you will have

Be a trusted advisor to Public Sector stakeholders by providing timely, business-oriented compliance guidance that helps unblock deals and GTM execution across international markets.

Lead localization of our Public Sector compliance guidance for priority countries/regions, translating global principles into locally workable approaches while keeping standards consistent across jurisdictions.

Partner cross-functionally to deliver clear guardrails and options that support growth while appropriately managing risk.

Build reusable playbooks, templates, and enablement so that teams can move faster with greater confidence and less reinvention across regions.

Lead internal investigations as needed–this is anticipated to be a smaller portion of the role but may vary by business needs.

Help define ‘how we work’ internationally by improving consistency and clarity across jurisdictions, so stakeholders know what to do, when to escalate, and how to proceed responsibly.

What we look for

Qualified attorney in good standing in an EMEA jurisdiction with several years of post qualification experience (mix of in-house/law firm experience preferred).

Experience advising on public sector procurement/government contracting or related compliance issues in EMEA; comfortable navigating multi-jurisdiction complexity.

Strong builder mindset: you enjoy turning complex fast-moving ambiguous issues into scalable guidance and systems (templates, playbooks, enablement) that teams can actually use.

Investigations experience is a plus (scoping, interviews, evidence management, clear written outputs), with sensitivity to local requirements and practices.

Clear, executive-ready communicator who can frame risk, options and recommendations; strong cross-functional influence.
