About the Role
CTG is seeking a Software Developer to design and lead scalable, secure, mission-driven technical solutions supporting federal modernization initiatives. This role focuses on end-to-end solution architecture across applications, integrations, cloud environments, APIs, and enterprise systems while partnering closely with engineering, product, infrastructure, and delivery teams.
You Will Get To
Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software applications and services
Translate business and product requirements into reliable, maintainable solutions
Build backend services and APIs using Java, Groovy, Spring Boot, and OpenJDK
Develop and integrate REST and GraphQL APIs
Work with MySQL and PostgreSQL and implement application integrations and data flows
Collaborate with engineering, DevSecOps, infrastructure, and product teams to deliver software
Troubleshoot and resolve application issues across development, testing, and production environments
Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews and technical discussions
Contribute to CI/CD, automated testing, cloud adoption, and application modernization
Apply secure coding practices and support performance, scalability, and maintainability
Document technical solutions and development processes

Strong in backend development, API development, application integration, and distributed systems
Comfortable with modern development frameworks, databases, and cloud technologies
A collaborative, proactive problem-solver who values clean, maintainable code
Adaptable and comfortable working in an agile development environmen
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
2+ years of professional experience in software development
Strong hands-on experience with Java, Groovy, Spring Boot, and OpenJDK
Experience with REST and GraphQL APIs, MySQL, and PostgreSQL
Understanding of software development principles, microservices, and distributed systems
Experience with version control, testing, debugging, code reviews, and CI/CD
Experience with AWS or Azure
Familiarity with DevSecOps, secure coding, and modern software delivery practices
Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
Nice to Have
Experience with Angular, React, TypeScript, or JavaScript
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, serverless, or cloud-native development
Familiarity with event-driven architecture, Zero Trust, or IAM integrations
Experience supporting federal government agencies
Salary
We are committed to offering a competitive salary for this position, with an estimated range of $75k–$110k annually. Please note that this range is intended to provide a general idea of what to expect. The final offer may vary based on experience, skills, and other factors.
