Social Media Strategist
SUMMARY:
The Social Media Strategist serves as an expert within the Global Social Media Center of Excellence (COE) to craft, enable, and execute tailored social media strategies supporting key business priorities across brand teams, medical affairs, and paid media partners. This role leverages data, consumer insights, and cross-functional collaboration to drive authentic audience engagement across priority social platforms while ensuring compliance with healthcare industry regulations.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Collaborate cross-functionally with brand teams, medical affairs, paid media, search, web, and creative partners to define and enable organic social media strategies aligned with business goals.
Maintain up-to-date expertise on social media trends, platform developments, and audience behaviors across prioritized networks, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X, and Snapchat.
Guide content through internal Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) review processes, ensuring strict compliance with promotional practices, FDA regulations, privacy policies, and brand standards.
Partner with community managers and social listening teams to extract actionable consumer insights, monitor real-time audience behavior, and feed data into brand channel strategy.
Assist in developing and updating the global social media strategy playbook to standardize capabilities and best practices across the organization.
Analyze performance data from social listening and channel analytics to deliver monthly/quarterly insights, make channel optimization recommendations, and refine program execution.
Collaborate with data, analytics, and media teams to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and build regular scorecard reporting for leadership.
Interface with internal IT teams and external agency partners to implement workflows and processes for deploying approved social capabilities.
EXPERIENCE:
5-7 years of digital or social media marketing experience with a focus on developing and executing social media strategy for enterprise brands or functional areas.
Proven track record of translating consumer insights and brand objectives into integrated marketing campaigns.
Experience navigating regulated content environments, particularly pharmaceutical Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) review workflows, is preferred.
Demonstrated success working in highly matrixed, dynamic environments and leading cross-functional alignment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, understand, and interpret job-related documents, instructions, policies, and communications in English. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, with employees, customers, vendors, and other business partners, as applicable to the position.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent practical work experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Regular use of hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment, including repetitive motions such as typing, scrolling, and mouse use. Ability to communicate effectively and understand verbal communication in person, by telephone, and through video conferencing or other remote communication tools. Ability to view and read information on computer screens and printed materials, including the ability to adjust focus. The position requires prolonged periods of computer use and viewing a computer screen.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: This position generally operates during normal business hours; however, specific start and end times may vary based on business needs, workload, and job responsibilities. Occasional work outside of normal business hours may be required.
TRAVEL: Minimal travel may be required on an as-needed basis.
