Responsibilities

We are looking for an exceptional Technical Architect to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for:

Customer Engagement & Solution Delivery

Participate as a lead architect in professional services engagements, including customised customer onboarding, statements of work, and other customer enablement activities

Lead business requirements sessions with customer technical and business stakeholders

Develop architectural designs for customer integrations and automations

Conduct recipe reviews and advise on unit, integration, and user acceptance testing best practices

Conduct production readiness assessments and advise on production deployment procedures

Conduct post-live deployment health checks and provide guidance on recipe and process optimisations

Provide thorough knowledge transfer to customer and partner teams

Platform Evangelism & Advisory

Apply and advise on Workato frameworks, including GEARS and the Workato Embedded Product Guide, aligned to customer organisational needs

Stay current with AI, agentic automation, and MCP-based integration trends, and help customers understand how these capabilities — including Workato’s Enterprise MCP — can extend and enhance their automation architectures

Serve as a Workato evangelist — demonstrating how Workato drives business automation across both direct and embedded deployments in a broad set of industries

Become the trusted technical advisor to customers and partners from an overall solution, architecture, and implementation perspective

AI Value Realization & Change Advisory

Advise customers on organizational readiness, adoption, and governance practices required for AI and agentic automation initiatives to translate into measurable business value

Facilitate value-mapping and business case workshops that tie automation and AI initiatives to specific, trackable outcomes

Identify and proactively address the non-technical failure modes of AI projects — unclear ownership, poor process fit, weak executive sponsorship, change fatigue — during scoping and delivery

Partner with customer executive sponsors to define success metrics and track value realization post-go-live

Thought Leadership & Team Contribution

Contribute to the growth of the Professional Services department by creating or enhancing content such as presentations, demos, white papers, best practices, architecture patterns — including MCP and agentic automation patterns — and online courses for use by customers and to enable our extended team

Mentor and train team members from pre-sales and post-sales teams, enabling them with content and knowledge

Develop content to coach our partner ecosystem on Workato delivery best practices

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; non-traditional but comparable proven experience will also be considered

5+ years of technology transformation consulting, including hands-on implementation experience with one or more common integration, middleware, or API management solutions

Proven results leading and overseeing customer and/or partner success across: front-end and back-end solution architecture, enterprise architecture, development and test/release management strategies, change management, and direct leadership in designing solutions that meet or exceed customer needs

Experience documenting business processes and applying technology to optimise and automate them

Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with technical, business, and C-level stakeholders

Deep understanding of security and governance requirements for large enterprise organisations

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to convey and relate ideas to others and collaborate in a cross-functional environment

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate ideas visually and deliver professional presentations

Self-starter who can work independently and as part of a distributed team, with a willingness to take ownership of situations and problems

Ability to travel to client sites up to 25% (may vary based on prevailing circumstances)

Demonstrated ability to consult on organizational change and adoption, not solely technical implementation — able to speak credibly to why AI and automation initiatives fail to realize value even when the technology works

Nice to Have

Experience as an enterprise and/or digital architect

Master’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering

Knowledge of key applications such as Salesforce, NetSuite, Workday, ServiceNow, SAP, or Oracle E-Business Suite

Knowledge of cloud infrastructure platforms including AWS, Azure, and GCP

Experience working in a start-up or high-growth environment

Track record of continuous learning of new technologies and leading projects that push the capabilities of existing platforms

Track record of driving software expansions as a direct result of professional services engagements

Familiarity with AI and agentic automation concepts — including how LLMs, AI agents, and AI-augmented workflows are being applied in enterprise contexts — and practical experience using AI tools in a professional or delivery setting

Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and how MCP-based architectures enable AI agents to interact with enterprise systems and workflows; experience with Workato’s Enterprise MCP capabilities is a strong advantage

Familiarity with change management frameworks (e.g., ADKAR, Kotter) as applied to technology adoption

Experience building or presenting value realization frameworks or business cases to executive stakeholders
