Senior Software Engineer
As a Senior member of Antares' Software Engineering team, you will take a prominent role in developing our in-house multiphysics simulations: the design, development, and deployment of critical features that allow the company to build end to end predictions of all the applicable physics of nuclear reactors. You'll be a technical leader, collaborating closely with scientists and engineers from others disciplines to bring complex products to life.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Mechanical, Nuclear, Structural, Thermal, and Systems Engineers to construct multi-physics simulation tools
- Design, develop, and deploy high-quality, performant, and scalable data-intensive applications using Python
- Write clean, well-documented, and secure code that everyone can contribute to.
- Implement unit tests, integration tests, and help shepherd the frameworks that run them.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of industry experience in software or physics modeling
- 3+ years of strong proficiency in Python
- Systems design and architecture mastery of data intensive applications
- Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with Python-based scientific computing libraries (Pandas, NumPy, HDF5, Matplotlib)
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- A passion for building high-quality software for end users and a desire to learn and grow
- Professional experience with stochastic simulation frameworks, computational geometry, and/or numerical methods
- Additional language and framework experience up the stack (JS/TypeScript/Ruby/Rails/Django)
- Additional language and framework experience down into firmware (C/++/Go/Embedded/RTOS)
- Track record of working within your company to develop valuable, effective internal tools
- Experience working on software for hardware products
- Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and Cloud Compute
- DevOps principles and Infrastructure as a Service
