Senior Product Manager, Oncology
About the Role: The Senior Product Manager, Oncology leads product development and commercial scale for Signatera, Natera's market-leading tumor-informed minimal residual disease (MRD) assay. This role owns laboratory turnaround time, throughput, and process stability across core lab sites. You will drive the change control review (CCR) pipeline end-to-end from root-cause investigation through requirements authorship, core team leadership, and post-launch hypercare monitoring.
As the product lead for lab process performance, you will leverage operational and sequencing data, build capacity and financial models for equipment and automation investments, and serve as the subject matter expert to Software Engineering and Digital Product Management on instrument integration and LIMS requirements. This is an analytical, data-first, execution-heavy role for someone who bridges technical change control, product requirements, SQL queries, and lab floor operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
Own and execute the product roadmap for future Signatera features and service components.
Write clear requirements that balance clinical customer needs with lab throughput realities.
Build data-backed business cases and financial models for equipment, automation, and operational improvements.
Run the change control process end-to-end: root cause analysis, requirements, board review, hypercare, and close-out.
Define quantitative product performance indicators, track operational datasets, and drive systematic process improvements across teams.
Establish go/no-go criteria and hypercare metrics for new feature launches, maintaining ownership through exit criteria.
Conduct VOC interviews, market research, and competitive intelligence to validate product features and fuel market growth.
Partner with product marketing to define positioning, pricing, and technical launch collateral.
Communicate vision, roadmap progress, and technical updates clearly to cross-functional stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, physical sciences, statistics, or engineering. Master’s or PhD preferred.
Minimum 5 years of professional experience, including 2-3 years in product management, commercialization, or strategic consulting within diagnostics, medical devices, or oncology.
Experience with products delivered as laboratory services strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience driving data-driven process improvements using operational data and VOC to eliminate failure modes across the sample lifecycle.
Hands-on experience with quality systems (CAPA, nonconformance, change control) in a CLIA/CAP lab environment preferred.
Experience with SQL, Snowflake, Statistical Process Control (SPC), or continuous improvement frameworks (Lean, Six Sigma) preferred.
