About The Role

As the Senior Director of FP&A you will report to the CFO and serve as a key financial thought partner to Kikoff's leadership team as the company continues its significant and profitable growth. You will own the company's financial planning, forecasting, and analysis functions, translating complex business dynamics into actionable financial insight that drives strategic decision-making. You will work closely with the CFO and cross-functional leaders to build the financial infrastructure, analytical frameworks, and planning processes that a pre-IPO fintech company demands. The ideal candidate combines rigorous financial analysis with strong business instincts, an AI mindset, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders with clarity and confidence.

The Senior Director of FP&A will initially manage a team of 3–4, with the opportunity to grow the function as Kikoff's business continues to scale. The role will be located in our San Francisco office (in office 3 days/week).

What You Will Do:

Own Kikoff's annual operating budget, quarterly plans, weekly/daily forecasts, and long-range financial model, ensuring they reflect business realities and support strategic decision-making

Lead FP&A team that builds and maintains financial models that capture the unit economics, marketing acquisition/retention analytics, cohort dynamics, and revenue drivers specific to Kikoff's businesses

Serve as a trusted financial partner to business leaders across marketing, product, engineering, and operations - translating financial data into clear guidance and actionable recommendations

Help to define the company’s key metrics and drive alignment and adoption in close partnership with our Data team, while leveraging and pushing AI adoption

Prepare and present executive and board-level financial reporting packages, including monthly financial reporting package, board decks, KPI dashboards, and forward-looking commentary

Lead scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to support strategic initiatives, new product launches, and capital allocation decisions

Partner with the Corporate Controller and accounting team to ensure alignment between financial reporting and operational forecasts

Own the selection and development of Kikoff's planning systems and financial infrastructure, driving adoption of best-in-class tools and processes

Support fundraising, investor relations, and M&A processes as needed, including preparation of investor materials and financial due diligence

Build, develop, and grow a high-performing FP&A team, setting a high bar for analytical rigor, business judgment, communication and cross-functional collaboration

About You:

12+ years of experience in FP&A, investment banking, or a related financial discipline, with significant industry experience at a high-growth company

Background at a late-stage or public fintech, or e-commerce / marketplace / internet company with high transaction volumes preferred

Investment banking experience preferred — candidates with IB backgrounds who have successfully transitioned into operating FP&A roles are strongly encouraged to apply

MBA preferred; demonstrated track record of financial leadership at a later-stage pre-IPO or newly public company strongly valued

Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial analysis into clear, compelling narratives for executive and board audiences

Expert financial modeler with deep experience building driver-based models that capture unit economics, cohort behavior, and multi-product revenue dynamics

Comfortable operating as a player-coach — willing to roll up sleeves on detailed analysis and models while managing and developing a growing team

Strong communication skills to build deep, collaborative relationships across Kikoff’s teams

High business acumen, intellectual curiosity, and a track record of building credibility and trust with senior cross-functional stakeholders
