Senior Data Analyst, Investor

YipitData is a market research and analytics firm that helps investment funds and Fortune 500 companies understand company performance, market trends, and competitive dynamics. Our proprietary technology analyzes billions of alternative data points to produce insights that inform important business and investment decisions.
We operate globally, with offices in the US, APAC, and India. Our people-centered culture—recognized by Inc. as a Best Workplace for three consecutive years—is built around transparency, ownership, and continuous learning.
What It's Like to Work Here
Ownership is real, not aspirational. Analysts own data products from methodology development through delivery and directly influence products used by leading investment firms.
Growth is driven by impact, not tenure. Scope and responsibility expand as fast as you can demonstrate you're ready.
AI is a core working tool. We're actively rebuilding how analytical work gets done—using AI agents, automation, and new tooling to fundamentally change what's possible.
About the Role
You’ll join one of our sector teams, covering industries such as consumer goods, software, or financial services. These teams build and maintain the analytical data products our clients rely on to understand companies and markets.
As an analyst on the team, you’ll develop deep expertise in a portfolio of proprietary datasets and methodologies. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of your products, improving the way they are built, and identifying insights and opportunities that create value for clients.
You’ll initially work closely with a Data Lead to learn our datasets, methodologies, and quality standards. As your expertise grows, you’ll take on greater ownership, tackle more complex products, and help shape how your team works.
This role is well suited to someone who enjoys solving difficult analytical problems, cares deeply about accuracy, and wants to build data products that people depend on—not simply deliver one-off analyses.
We’re open to hiring this role at multiple levels. While the position is posted as Senior Data Analyst, we encourage applications from candidates with a range of experience who can demonstrate strong analytical judgment, ownership, and growth potential. Final title, scope, and compensation will be calibrated based on experience and demonstrated skills.
What You’ll Do:
Own data products end-to-end — driving product success by delivering best-in-class outputs with a focus on accuracy, client value, and efficiency. You'll ramp into full ownership of your products and workflows with increasing autonomy as you build expertise.
Work with massive amounts of data to answer our clients' key questions about the companies and datasets we analyze. You'll develop deep expertise in our proprietary methods and techniques, building strong mental models that allow you to ensure data accuracy, identify methodology gaps, and derive key insights.
Tackle complex data problems using strong analytical judgment to refine methodologies, test new datasets, and solve challenges that require creative thinking — even when information is incomplete or ambiguous.
Use AI and tooling to drive meaningful leverage — increasing speed, reducing manual work, and automating portions of workflows. You'll build repeatable processes, maintain a high bar for correctness and quality, and validate AI-generated outputs.
Partner with Research, Engineering, Product, and other teams to solve problems, improve workflows, and deliver high-quality products.
Identify opportunities to improve products and processes — whether that's refining a methodology, exploring a new dataset, or finding a better way to do something. Contribute ideas that improve how your team operates and how we deliver value to clients.
Over your first year, you might:
Develop a new methodology that significantly improves the accuracy of an existing investment product.
Build an entirely new research product covering an adjacent market or investment theme.
Evaluate a new alternative dataset and determine how it can strengthen existing estimates or unlock new analytical capabilities.
Create an AI-powered analytical workflow that dramatically reduces the time required to develop recurring research.
Design a new dashboard or AI experience that changes how clients explore sector data.
You Are Likely To Succeed If
You have 4+ years of experience in data analytics, ideally in financial services, consulting, data science, product analytics, high-growth technology, or another environment where rigorous analysis informs important decisions. We value demonstrated capability and trajectory alongside years of experience.
You have advanced SQL skills and experience using Python or PySpark to build reliable, reusable analytical workflows and automations.
You enjoy turning complex datasets into scalable products and methodologies that customers rely on.
You quickly develop strong mental models of unfamiliar businesses, industries, and datasets, then use them to improve methodologies and uncover opportunities.
You thrive in ambiguous environments, proactively identifying what matters and taking ownership of problems beyond your immediate scope.
You communicate complex concepts clearly—including methodologies, assumptions, risks, and tradeoffs—to technical and non-technical audiences.
You are curious about industries, competitive dynamics, and the factors that drive company performance.
You actively use AI tools and are excited about finding fundamentally better ways to build analytical products.
