West Monroe is seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Insurance practice in Chicago. Our growing team helps insurance carriers and brokers transform their businesses through operating model design, process improvement, technology implementation, data and analytics, and change management. In this role, you will manage workstreams and deliverables, collaborate directly with client stakeholders, and apply insurance and consulting expertise to solve business and technology challenges. You will also begin mentoring junior consultants while contributing to business development and the growth of our practice.

What You Will Do

Manage client workstreams and deliverables, ensuring high-quality work that meets or exceeds client expectations.

Work directly with business and technology stakeholders to design and implement processes and technology that improve business value and operational efficiency.

Facilitate workshops to define future-state insurance processes, business requirements, and solution designs.

Lead requirements gathering, process design, gap analysis, and technology or package evaluations informed by insurance industry practices.

Develop client-ready communications, project plans, implementation plans, and other deliverables that support decisions, communicate status, and mitigate project risks.

Forecast and communicate risks, issues, timelines, and potential budget impacts while working with engagement leadership to keep delivery on track.

Collaborate across West Monroe and client teams to build effective joint project teams and mentor junior consultants.

Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesize complex information, and support data-driven recommendations for clients, exercising sound judgment in evaluating outputs.

Apply AI technologies (e.g., generative AI, automation tools, data models) to enhance insights, improve delivery efficiency, and elevate the quality of client outcomes.

Support business development through client and industry research, proposal development, project approaches, scopes, and pricing estimates.

Share insurance subject matter expertise and contribute to practice development through new tools, methodologies, reusable assets, and knowledge sharing.

What You Will Bring

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

4+ years of experience in a team-based consulting environment working directly with external clients, with demonstrated knowledge of insurance industry operations.

2+ years of experience in areas such as organizational transformation, process improvement, product development, or managing project workstreams.

Experience managing workstreams, priorities, risks, and deliverables in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, quality assurance, organizational, and project management skills.

Strong written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills, including experience communicating with senior and executive-level stakeholders.

Experience developing work plans, project scopes, and pricing estimates and supporting business development activities.

Experience integrating AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) into day-to-day workflows to enhance productivity and insight generation, coupled with strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, mitigate bias, and ensure high-quality outputs.

Ability to travel 25 to 50%.

Based on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below). Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.
