Senior Commercial Analyst @ Flip
Senior Commercial Analyst
About FLIP and the Role
FLIP is the leading refurbished consumer electronics platform in Southeast Europe, operating across Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Greece. As part of the eMAG ecosystem, we're building the most trusted marketplace for pre-owned devices - and growing fast. We run a data-driven, performance-obsessed commercial operation, and we're looking for someone who loves turning complexity into clear decisions.
We're looking for a Senior Commercial Analyst to sit at the heart of FLIP's commercial engine. You'll own performance visibility across the business - not just reporting what happened, but understanding why it happened and pushing for what to do next. You'll work across every function that drives growth and be a key voice in how we make decisions.
This is a high-exposure role: you'll present to senior leadership, challenge assumptions with data, and engage directly with Commercial/Growth, Marketing, Supply, Finance, Operations, and Product & Tech to translate insights into action. Critically, you'll also be the turbine behind FLIP's forecasting capability - building the process, challenging the inputs, and co-owning the accuracy.
Responsabilities:
Business Performance Analysis
Own regular Business performance reporting across sales and portfolio evolution - broken down by product, category, and country.
Build and maintain a clear picture of business health across FLIP's four markets (RO, HU, BG, GR), identifying what's working and what isn't.
Track key metrics end-to-end: GMV, units sold, AOV, CVR and portfolio availability.
Commercial Levers & Insight Generation
Analyze how pricing, promotions, traffic, and supply availability influence sales and profitability - and quantify the impact.
Build models and frameworks that help the business understand trade-offs (e.g. price vs. volume, category mix vs. margin).
Surface early signals from the data before they become problems - and translate them into concrete, actionable recommendations.
Sales Forecasting
Support and co-create together with the Commercial Manager FLIP's sales forecasting process end-to-end - from data inputs and model logic to bi-weekly review cycles and forecast lock.
Challenge the organization to take forecasting seriously: hold teams accountable to their inputs, call out sandbagging or over-optimism, and push for a shared commitment to hitting targets.
Co-create and continuously improve a robust forecasting algorithm built on demand decomposition (sessions, CVR, AOV), seasonality patterns, portfolio availability, and market dynamics.
Work with Supply, Marketing, and Commercial leads to ensure forecasts are grounded in operational reality - not just top-down targets.
Maintain forecast vs. actuals tracking, run post-mortems on misses, and feed learnings back into the model.
Stakeholder Engagement & Storytelling
Prepare and deliver clear, well-structured analyses and presentations for audiences ranging from functional teams to C-suite.
Apply structured thinking frameworks (Minto Pyramid, SCQA) to communicate findings with clarity and conviction.
Act as a trusted analytical partner to growth, marketing, supply, and product leadership.
Experience and Background
5+ years of experience in commercial analysis, business intelligence, management consulting, or a similar role in a data-intensive environment.
Strong analytical toolkit: advanced Excel/Google Sheets, comfortable with SQL or similar querying tools; experience with BI tools (Tableau, Looker, or equivalent) is a plus.
Proven experience building or significantly improving a sales forecasting process - including model design, stakeholder buy-in, and accuracy tracking.
Proven ability to work with large, messy datasets and extract meaningful, decision-relevant insights.
Track record of presenting complex analysis to senior stakeholders — you know how to tell a story with data, not just show a table.
Cross-functional experience: you've worked with multiple departments and know how to navigate competing priorities.
E-commerce, marketplace, or retail background is a strong advantage; understanding of refurbished/recommerce even better.
Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment - you don't wait for perfect data to form a view.
Fluency in English is required; Romanian is a strong plus.
What You can expect:
Rare opportunity to be a key commercial voice in one of SEE's most exciting tech companies.
High autonomy and direct impact on decisions that shape the business.
A culture that values analysis over gut feel, and moves fast when the data is clear.
Competitive compensation, a collaborative team, and room to grow.
