Senior Android Engineer
N-iX is looking for an experienced, proactive, and ambitious Senior Android Developer to join our team and contribute to the development and evolution of a native Android application.
Main Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain a high-quality native Android application
Take ownership of features throughout the entire development lifecycle—from requirements analysis and technical design to delivery and production support
Collaborate closely with UX/UI, QA, iOS, Product Management, Product Owners, and other engineering teams to align on requirements and specifications
Understand existing application workflows, improve them where necessary, and support legacy functionality
Act as a Subject Matter Expert in Android application development and maintenance
Collaborate with the Mobile Architect and the development team on technical decisions, application architecture, roadmaps, and new features
Investigate and resolve complex technical and production issues
Conduct code reviews, promote engineering best practices, and share knowledge with other team members
Mentor less-experienced developers and support their professional growth
Analyze requirements, provide estimates, identify technical risks, and propose appropriate solutions
Contribute to the development of simple, modular, maintainable, observable, and well-tested systems that can evolve over time
Help improve development processes, CI/CD pipelines, application quality, performance, and release stability
Role Requirements:
6+ years of professional Android development experience
Strong knowledge of Kotlin and practical experience with Java
Strong knowledge of Kotlin Coroutines, Flows, asynchronous programming, and concurrency
Experience with modern Android SDKs, Android Jetpack components, application lifecycle, and Material Design
Experience with Jetpack Compose and/or XML-based UI development
Strong understanding of Android application architecture, including MVVM, MVP, and Clean Architecture principles
Good knowledge of SOLID principles, software design patterns, modularization, and testable application design
Experience with dependency injection frameworks such as Koin, Hilt, or Dagger
Hands-on experience with Bluetooth Low Energy, including BLE/GATT communication, connectivity, and troubleshooting
Experience with networking and local data persistence, such as REST APIs, OkHttp/Retrofit, Room, or similar technologies
Strong understanding of multithreading, memory management, caching, battery consumption, and mobile performance optimization
Experience with Android profiling, debugging, crash analysis, and production monitoring tools
Experience with unit, integration, and automated UI testing
Experience with Git, code review practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Android application release processes
Ability to break complex problems into smaller, loosely coupled, maintainable, and testable components
Experience working in a Scrum environment and a solid understanding of Agile and Lean principles
Upper-Intermediate or higher English proficiency
Nice to Have:
Experience with VoIP, real-time audio, or communication applications
Experience with connected devices and custom communication protocols
Experience with OTA firmware update flows
Experience with JNI, Android NDK, or C/C++ integration
Experience building AI-powered mobile features, integrating AI services, or working with on-device machine learning
Experience publishing and managing applications through Google Play Console
