Remote, United States · Full-time

About Software Answers

Software Answers is a global company delivering the Oscar, CodeOne and res:harmonics platforms to clients across corporate housing and temporary accommodations. Software Answers is part of Banyan Software.

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst to join our existing QA team members in the US and UK and help form a single global QA team responsible for all three platforms, with a shared mandate: verify that every release meets a defined standard of correctness, and reduce the risk that defects reach our clients.

About the Role

As a QA Analyst, you will execute test cases, produce clear evidence and maintain the regression pack for one or more of our three platforms. You will join current QA team members across both regions at a formative moment for the function: standard operating procedures and an automation programme are in active development, and you will help shape how those processes work in practice as the team comes together globally.

You will work directly with developers throughout the delivery lifecycle, from reviewing acceptance criteria before a sprint starts to raising clearly reproducible defects after a build lands. You will also contribute to a growing set of AI-assisted QA practices, using tools such as Claude to accelerate test authoring, acceptance criteria review and regression gap analysis, always with QA judgement as the final check on anything AI generates.

Key Responsibilities

Test Coverage & Execution

Verify that completed issues meet their acceptance criteria before release

Design test cases that go beyond developer testing instructions to surface unintended behavior

Identify blast radius: changes that affect shared components or flows beyond the immediate ticket

Evidence & Defect Reporting

Attach test evidence to every issue tested

Raise defects with reproduction steps, environment, build version and a Loom recording

Record rework cycles

Collaboration & Communication

Partner with developers, who self-test and attach evidence before submitting work for review

Contribute to Confluence documentation, including release summaries

Work with Product to align the regression pack with client-critical priorities

Participate in release retrospectives to identify process improvements

Regression

Maintain a regression pack that reflects the product as it exists today

Apply the defined regression triggers to determine targeted versus full regression scope for a release

Prioritize coverage of high-risk and client-critical areas, including financial processing flows

Automation & AI-Assisted QA

Contribute to the evaluation and adoption of Playwright for automated functional testing

Support the build-out of an automated suite around client-critical flows

Use AI-assisted tools for test authoring, acceptance criteria drafting and regression gap analysis, reviewing every generated output before use

Qualifications

Required

2+ years of experience testing full-stack web applications

Comfort working directly with developers throughout the development and release cycle

Experience with Jira and Confluence, or comparable issue tracking and documentation tools

Experience producing clear, reproducible defect reports, including screen recordings

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail when validating complex workflows

Willingness to use AI-assisted QA tools as part of daily test authoring and analysis work

Preferred

Exposure to Playwright or another modern test automation framework (e.g. Cypress)

Experience with GitHub (or Bitbucket) and working in Microsoft 365 / Teams

Experience with Loom or similar tools for evidence capture

Experience testing financial workflows: invoicing, payments or batch processing

Exposure to property management, hospitality or workflow-driven enterprise systems

Experience contributing to acceptance criteria alongside Product

Our QA Principles

Quality is a shared responsibility: QA verifies; every developer, reviewer and product manager shares in building it

Evidence over memory: every defect and every test pass is demonstrable

Define done before you start: acceptance criteria set the standard; testing instructions describe the implementation

Automate what is stable, test what is risky: automation covers proven, scheduled, client-critical flows; manual testing focuses on what is new, changed or uncertain

Metrics drive decisions: rework rates, escape rates and regression coverage inform QA capacity and tooling investment
