Group Overview

Electromagnetic and Cyber Group (EM&C) is responsible for developing flexible and survivable advanced electronic warfare and secure communications equipment while providing the industry’s leading signals intelligence, electronic warfare, and cyber experts.  Metrea specializes in signal classification, direction finding, advanced geolocation techniques, and waveform development including waveforms for MANET and LPI/LPD applications. Metrea also develops special purpose radios for government customers and licenses DF and geolocation solutions to multiple OEMs.

Position Summary

The Program Security Officer (PSO) protects sensitive programs, personnel, capabilities, and operations by identifying security and counterintelligence risks and developing practical measures to mitigate them. The PSO works directly with operational teams, program leadership, security personnel, vendors, and other internal and external partners to integrate security into the planning and execution of current and future Files.

This role requires a strong understanding of counterintelligence, operational security, threat assessment, investigations, and security risk management. The PSO must be able to evaluate incomplete or ambiguous information, identify vulnerabilities before they become problems, and provide practical recommendations that protect sensitive activities without unnecessarily limiting operational effectiveness.

What You'll Do

Conduct counterintelligence, program security, and operational risk assessments supporting sensitive and advanced operations, including threats involving personnel, vendors, facilities, technologies, information, and infrastructure.

Integrate counterintelligence, OPSEC, and security considerations into operational planning and advise File leadership on risk, mitigation measures, and acceptable operational exposure.

Develop, implement, and refine program security SOPs, TTPs, security plans, and protective measures for current and future Files.

Assess vendors, partners, and supporting organizations for foreign intelligence, insider, cyber-enabled, unauthorized disclosure, and other security risks.

Support security incidents and investigations, including initial assessment, information preservation, compromise evaluation, stakeholder coordination, and corrective actions.

Conduct security reviews, vulnerability assessments, and after-action analysis to identify gaps, capture lessons learned and improve future operations.

Provide security and counterintelligence briefings, training, and practical guidance to teammates, vendors, and operational partners.

Coordinate with security, legal, IT/cybersecurity, program management, and operational personnel to develop integrated solutions to complex security problems.

Maintain awareness of emerging threats and adversary capabilities and support deployed or geographically distributed operations when required.

What You Bring

20+ years of combined experience in SOF, Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, interagency, or sensitive commercial operations.

Significant professional experience in counterintelligence, program security, intelligence, special operations support, operational security, investigations, or a closely related field.

Demonstrated experience identifying and mitigating threats to sensitive personnel, programs, technologies, or operations, including conducting threat, vulnerability, risk, or counterintelligence assessments.

Experience supporting sensitive, compartmented, or operationally complex activities and working across operational, intelligence, security, technical, and leadership organizations.

Strong knowledge of counterintelligence threats, insider risk, foreign intelligence activities, unauthorized disclosure, and operational security principles.

Sound judgment and the ability to translate incomplete or complex information into practical recommendations that balance security with mission requirements.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience developing assessments, briefings, reports, SOPs, or other security documentation.

Ability to operate independently, collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, and build effective security processes without creating unnecessary operational burden.

S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain the security clearance required for assigned work.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Prior service as a Counterintelligence Special Agent or equivalent government, military, or Intelligence Community experience.

Experience supporting Special Operations Forces, Special Access Programs, sensitive activities, or other compartmented programs.

Experience conducting counterintelligence investigations, cyber counterintelligence, digital forensics, or cyber-enabled threat assessments.

Formal advanced counterintelligence, investigations, threat analysis, or security training, with experience leading or mentoring security or counterintelligence personnel.

Current TS/SCI eligibility; CI polygraph eligibility or current polygraph is desirable where applicable.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time exempt position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs.

Work Environment

This job operates in an office setting.

Travel

Frequent travel to our US facilities (FL, DC, MD, NY, and CA) and overseas locations as required, not to exceed 20% of the time.

Base Pay Range

The compensation range shown below is a good faith estimate and reflects the expected base pay for this position upon hire. This is just one component of Metrea's overall approach to total rewards and final compensation decisions, including the ultimate salary or hourly rate agreed upon, may vary depending on factors such as job location, job-specific knowledge, skills, experience, and the overall negotiated compensation package. Eligible full-time employees also receive a comprehensive benefits package designed to support their health, wellbeing, and long-term success.
