Product Manager III - LIMS
POSITION SUMMARY:
As part of the Software Product team, the Product Managers help achieve Natera's strategic imperatives through excellence in technology. They work on products that are critical to lab operations, R&D, process development, commercial operations, reporting, bioinformatics, and more.
To be successful in the role, Product Manager III - LIMS need to have a deep understanding of the end-to-end workflow of the product and the technical details of the software systems to deliver our best-in-class personalized genetic tests. They use this knowledge to translate and document detailed use cases and software product requirements, driving prioritization and critical decision-making on solutions. They also need to be able to effectively work with a wide range of stakeholders. They must own the product roadmap and backlog of work with all technical requirements.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Immerse yourself in the tough problems we’re solving. Work with designers, engineers, product managers, and lab operations to develop elegant software solutions to solve those problems.
Develop the strategy and roadmap for your development teams.
Communicate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather inputs for your backlog and gain buy-in for a prioritized roadmap of deliverables from your team.
Transform business, market and clinical requirements into executable product requirements
Own and prioritize a feature backlog to align with the overall strategic roadmap.
Produce deliverables that facilitate better understanding for feedback such as flow diagrams, data models, pros/cons, prototypes, AI-assisted sandbox prototypes, and other illustrations.
Define what success looks like for your product area and measure it.
Incorporate a focus on quality into product design and work closely with development and software quality assurance teams on product and process improvements.
Evangelize your product work across the organization, drive integration and ensure desired positive impact is achieved. Have a sense of ownership for everything you engage in.
QUALIFICATIONS:
3-5 years of experience in software product management, ideally in the healthcare IT or biotech industry. Bonus points if the experience is in genetic testing
Experience with Agile software development, working directly with engineering development and QA teams
Strong communication, facilitation, presentation, relationship-building, and analytical skills
Experience building scalable enterprise software or business critical systems
Willingness and confidence to experiment hands-on with AI tools to stand up quick proof-of-concept prototypes, iterating fast on ideas ahead of formal development.
BA/BS degree in relevant technical, scientific, or quantitative discipline or relevant experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to understand and describe technical complexities in a simplified way appropriate to different audiences
Be able to break down large projects into granular milestones and track progress.
AI fluency - ability to act as a builder and judgement about when to do so
Ability to collaborate and interact effectively with individuals, and influence individuals across functional areas and in team environments.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Customer research and survey skills – how to ask good questions, listen carefully, and synthesize information into clear customer and business needs.
Demonstrated knowledge of products and markets, or ability to learn quickly.
