About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Principal Software Engineer to serve as the Tech Lead driving technical direction, architectural evolution, and day-to-day engineering execution for our Marketing Technology (MarTech) team. In this role, you will partner directly with the Senior Engineering Manager, taking technical ownership of our public web platform and primary digital flagship.

In addition to ensuring our global web platform remains fast, resilient, and scalable, you will serve as the team’s technical authority for Agentic AI—architecting intelligent autonomous agents, multi-step LLM workflows, and modern automations that elevate both our digital customer experience and internal marketing operations.

What You Will Do

Architect Global Web Platforms: Own the technical architecture, scalability, and performance of our global digital flagship, driving world-class Core Web Vitals, edge caching strategies, and seamless internationalization (i18n).

Lead Agentic AI Strategy: Architect and deploy production-grade agentic AI systems, autonomous multi-agent loops, tool-calling frameworks, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines to power intelligent workflows and personalized web experiences.

Technical Leadership & Delivery: Partner directly with the Senior Engineering Manager to translate business and marketing roadmaps into resilient technical architecture, pragmatic milestones, and maintainable codebases.

MarTech Integrations: Oversee the architectural design and integration of third-party marketing platforms, analytics suites, customer data platforms (CDPs), and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) without compromising web performance or security.

Mentorship & Engineering Excellence: Set engineering standards, conduct high-signal architecture and code reviews, and mentor mid-to-senior engineers across modern full-stack web development and emerging AI patterns.

Cloud & DevOps Rigor: Collaborate with Platform and DevOps teams to maintain robust CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and automated cloud infrastructure using modern Infrastructure as Code.

What We Are Looking For

Minimum Requirements:

8+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a Tech Lead, Staff, or Principal Engineer capacity architecting high-scale web platforms or distributed services.

Hands-On Agentic AI Depth: Practical experience designing, building, and deploying autonomous AI agents and LLM-powered workflows in production (utilizing frameworks like LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, or custom agent architectures, alongside structured tool/function calling and RAG).

Modern Web Mastery: Deep expertise across TypeScript/JavaScript, modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Next.js), and backend services built with Node.js or Python.

Web Systems & Cloud Infrastructure: Strong grasp of modern rendering paradigms (SSR, SSG, ISR), CDN/edge platforms (e.g., Cloudflare, CloudFront), REST/GraphQL APIs, and cloud environments (AWS, Docker, Terraform).

Pragmatic Partner: Exceptional ability to collaborate across engineering management, product, and non-technical marketing stakeholders, breaking down ambiguous goals into actionable technical plans.

Preferred Requirements:

Prior experience in the Marketing Technology (MarTech) space, including headless/decoupled CMS platforms (e.g., Contentful, Sanity), A/B testing engines, and conversion rate optimization (CRO).

Practical experience integrating enterprise CRMs, marketing automation engines, and data pipelines (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Segment).

Familiarity with international data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA), accessibility standards (WCAG), and enterprise compliance standards (e.g., SOC 2).

The annual gross base salary range for this position is CAD140,000 - CAD 176,000 plus variable compensation.
