Principal Product Manager - Vertical Partnerships
We have an opening for a Principal Product Manager who will shape and grow Constant Contact's partner ecosystem through product innovation and strategy. This is not a Sales or Business Development role; you'll focus on identifying which partnerships create the greatest opportunities, prioritizing the integrations and experiences we build, and developing a product roadmap that connects our platform to new customers and drives meaningful business growth.
Your focus is Vertical Partnerships: tailoring our platform and partner experiences to the needs of specific industries, then repeating that success across several of them. Real Estate is one example. It’s a vertical where our value proposition is resonating today, and it shows the kind of work involved: identifying the right partners, shaping an experience that fits the industry’s workflows, and landing and expanding quickly. Our priorities will follow where the evidence is strongest, so the specific verticals will change as we learn. What stays constant is the goal of a repeatable model for entering, validating, and scaling vertical partnerships across several markets with strong market size and similar customer needs.
You’ll share company goals for user acquisition, revenue, and average selling price (ASP) with Strategic Partnerships (our business development team), and you’ll work across the company to deliver them. Expect daily collaboration with Design, Engineering, Sales, Sales Engineering, Customer Support, Customer Success, Marketing, Legal, Finance, and Data teams, as well as external partners.
This is an individual contributor role with company-wide scope. You’ll succeed by building trust and alignment with teams that have their own priorities.
What you’ll do:
Own the product strategy, roadmap, and launch of partner-driven experiences across multiple industry verticals
Build a reusable vertical model: define how we identify, validate, and enter a new vertical, and which components carry over from one to the next
Define and ship integrations, embedded experiences, co-built offers, templates, and marketplace listings with partners including platforms, industry associations, networks and franchises, agencies, resellers, ecommerce providers, and AI companies
Work with engineering on APIs, data flows, authentication, and integration quality, including reliability, security, and ongoing maintenance
Identify where AI can speed up partner and customer onboarding, content creation, and automation, and prioritize it with engineering and design
Run discovery with partners and customers, then turn it into a clear roadmap and prioritized backlog
Design and run pilots with defined success criteria, then make scale, change, or stop decisions based on the data
Align and drive cross-functional teams across Design, Engineering, Sales, Sales Engineering, Customer Support, Customer Success, Marketing, Legal, Finance, Data, and Strategic Partnerships to deliver partner products. You’ll set direction and priorities through influence, shared goals, and clear communication. Together you’ll define packaging, pricing, rev-share and co-sell models, launch plans, partner enablement, and ongoing support for each partner product.
Set and track the metrics for each partner product, including partner-sourced accounts, activation, attach rate, retention, expansion, ASP, and revenue
Share what you learn, coach colleagues informally, and help raise the quality of partner-product practice
Who you are:
8+ years in product management, ideally in B2B, SaaS, platform, marketplace, or partner-integration products. We care more about what you’ve shipped and learned than about years or titles.
Experience taking a product from an unclear problem through validation, MVP, and launch, ideally with an external partner or integration
Comfort discussing APIs, integrations, data models, and system design with engineers, and writing clear technical requirements
Vertical SaaS or industry-specific partnership experience (for example, Real Estate, financial services, or home services)
Experience with rev-share, co-sell, or embedded distribution models
Experience linking product work to business results such as acquisition, revenue, attach rate, or retention
Experience turning customer and market insight into product decisions, ideally for small business or vertical audiences
Track record of leading cross-functional work and driving results through influence
Ability to make sound decisions with incomplete information and to define structure where little exists
How we work:
Constant Contact combines the strengths of an established company with the pace of a startup. We have 30 years of customer trust, a large base of small businesses, and the resources to back good ideas. On the B2B team, you’ll get the speed and freedom to use them.
Initiative is expected and rewarded. You’ll have room to identify opportunities, propose new approaches, and carry them through without waiting for a long approval chain.
Invention and reinvention are part of the job. You’ll build new products and also rethink how we approach partnerships, from process to packaging.
Small, fast cycles. We favor quick pilots, clear success criteria, and decisions based on results.
Scale behind you. You can use the company’s customers, data, brand, and cross-functional experts to make a new idea work faster than a startup could.
How we’ll measure success:
Within your first year:
Multiple vertical partner experiences launched, each with measurable growth in new accounts and revenue
A documented, repeatable playbook for entering a new vertical, tested across more than one market
Evidence-based decisions on which verticals to scale, adjust, or stop
A prioritized pipeline of next verticals, backed by market and customer evidence
