Position: People Operations & Total Rewards Specialist

Job Type: Full Time

Reports To: Director of Total Rewards & People Operations

Location: Hybrid Remote in Colorado, Maryland, or Virginia – Occasional Onsite Work and Travel Required

Schedule: Monday to Friday | Hours May Vary

Compensation: $60,000 - $80,000 Annual Salary

About The Role

The People Operations & Total Rewards Specialist is a key member of the People & Empowerment team responsible for delivering an accurate, efficient, and employee-focused experience across core People Operations and Total Rewards programs. This role owns the day-to-day administration of our people systems, including benefits administrations, and contributes positively to initiatives that strengthen the overall employee experience.

They are comfortable balancing operational responsibilities with meaningful interaction and bring genuine interest and enthusiasm for making People Operations and Total Rewards programs simple, accessible, and valuable.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

People Operations & Systems

Own the day-to-day administration of the HRIS, ATS, and other People systems ensuring employee information is accurate, timely, and well maintained.

Maintain employee records, organizational data, system access, and documentation.

Partner closely with Payroll, Finance, IT, and other cross-functional teams to ensure employee data and processes are aligned across systems.

Support routine People reporting, audits, and data requests.

Total Rewards & Employee Experience

Own day-to-day administration of employee benefits and serve as a primary resource for employee questions related to benefits and total rewards.

Lead the Total Rewards portion of new-hire orientation and provide ongoing education to help employees understand and maximize their benefits and total rewards.

Handle confidential employee information with discretion and sound judgment.

Develop clear, engaging Total Rewards communications and resources.

Support employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

Monitor People Operations and Total Rewards workflows to proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and enhance the employee experience.

Update and maintain process documentation, employee resources, FAQs, and standard operating procedures.

Build strong relationships with employees and leaders by providing responsive, knowledgeable, and solution-oriented support.

Cross train with People Operations Coordinators and Talent Acquisition Specialists

Partner with the Director of Total Rewards & People Operations on special projects.

Other duties as assigned

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Psychology or Human Services, Communications, or related field required.

Training & Experience:

2–4 years of experience in Human Resources or a related field required with experience in:

Administering an HRIS or other People technology system.

Supporting employee benefits administration.

Employee lifecycle processes and core HR operations.

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information appropriately.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong customer-service skills and ability to build trust with employees and leaders.

Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Comfortable working independently while collaborating across teams.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Paycom, Greenhouse and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
