About the Client
A major Brazilian financial institution specializing in investment banking, wealth management, and corporate lending. The customer develops secure digital banking platforms and financial solutions to serve a diverse global client base.
What You’ll Do
Design, develop, and enhance backend applications with a focus on performance, scalability, and resilience.
Develop and maintain microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and Quarkus.
Build cloud-native, event-driven solutions leveraging AWS services.
Design and implement distributed architectures using: Amazon SQS, Amazon SNS, AWS Lambda, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon API Gateway
Implement observability best practices, including logging, metrics, monitoring, and distributed tracing.
Participate in software architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions.
Drive code quality, engineering best practices, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Leverage AI-assisted development tools, such as Cursor and developer copilots, to improve productivity and software quality.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams using Agile methodologies.
What You Bring
Proven mid-to-senior level backend experience in software engineering.
Strong proficiency in Java.
Hands-on experience developing applications with Spring Boot and Quarkus.
Strong experience with AWS, including: Amazon SQS, Amazon SNS, AWS Lambda, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon API Gateway
Experience designing and developing microservices.
Strong understanding of distributed and event-driven architectures.
Experience implementing observability practices, including logging, metrics, and tracing.
Experience working in Agile (Scrum) environments.
Experience using AI-powered software development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar developer assistants.
Nice to have
Experience with reactive programming using Mutiny or Project Reactor.
Experience within investment banking, capital markets, or financial services.
Familiarity with the Nasdaq Calypso platform.
Experience optimizing highly scalable, mission-critical backend systems.
English level
Intermediate
