What you’ll do

As the MEP Superintendent, you will run mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction on the ground at one of Giga's active data center sites — coordinating the trades that turn a shell into a live, mission-critical facility. You'll manage MEP subcontractors day-to-day, keep switchgear, UPS, CRAH/CRAC, and BMS installations on schedule and to spec, and be the person who catches a clash or a sequencing problem before it becomes a delay. You'll work directly with the Project Director, PMs, and the commissioning team to make sure what gets installed in the field is what actually gets turned over — clean, tested, and ready for IST.

Where you’ll work

This is a site-based role. You'll be on-site full-time at an active Giga data center construction site, with the specific location depending on current project needs.

Responsibilities

Supervise day-to-day MEP construction activities, including electrical (MV/HV, switchgear, UPS), mechanical (CRAH/CRAC, chillers, piping), and plumbing scopes

Coordinate and direct MEP subcontractors, ensuring work is sequenced correctly across trades and stays on schedule

Review and enforce compliance with single-line diagrams, P&IDs, and MEP specifications in the field

Enforce site safety standards specific to electrical and mechanical work, including LOTO procedures

Coordinate closely with the commissioning team to prepare systems for FPTs and IST, and resolve issues found during commissioning

Manage trade stacking and sequencing to avoid clashes between electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and controls installers

Maintain daily logs, track progress against the schedule, and flag delays, material issues, or risks early

Inspect in-progress work for compliance with OPR/BOD requirements and applicable codes

Resolve field-level conflicts between MEP trades and escalate issues that require design or engineering input

Support quality control inspections and punch list closeout for MEP scopes

Partner with the Project Director and Project Managers on schedule updates, manpower planning, and subcontractor performance

Requirements

7+ years of experience in MEP construction, with at least 3+ years in a superintendent or equivalent field leadership role

Experience running MEP scopes on large-scale industrial, utility, or mission-critical facility projects

Strong working knowledge of MV/HV electrical systems, switchgear, UPS, and CRAH/CRAC systems

Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, P&IDs, and MEP specifications

OSHA 30 certification

Proven ability to manage subcontractors across multiple trades and hold them accountable to schedule and quality

Strong communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across trades, commissioning teams, engineers, and project leadership

Bonus points

Experience building data centers or other mission-critical facilities

Direct experience supporting commissioning (Cx) activities, including FPTs and IST

Familiarity with BMS/controls integration in the field
