Job Description:

Meade is seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer III to be an integral member of our Mechanical design team. The scope of projects will include data centers, industrial buildings, offices, and other high-profile construction projects. This role will be highly collaborative amongst Meade staff, clients, vendors, and external disciplines.

Job Duties:

Support the design and documentation of mechanical and plumbing systems using Revit for various projects, including data centers, industrial buildings, and offices.

Develop detailed HVAC and plumbing system layouts within Revit, including ductwork, piping, and equipment placement.

Perform engineering calculations for load analysis, equipment sizing, and system performance optimization to ensure design accuracy.

Coordinate with architects, electrical engineers, structural engineers, and other disciplines to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems within Revit models.

Write and edit mechanical equipment specifications, select equipment, mechanical systems, and devices while considering cost-effectiveness and energy efficiency.

Review submittals, RFIs, and change orders, assist with the preparation of record drawings, and participate in site visits, inspections, and commissioning work.

Ensure all designs comply with local, state, and national building codes, standards, and sustainability requirements.

Collaborate with project managers, clients, and vendors to resolve technical challenges and improve design efficiency.

Stay updated on the latest Revit features, industry trends, and best practices to support continuous improvement in mechanical design workflows.

Minimum Qualifications:

4+ years' experience in MEP mechanical design.

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.

Skills in HVAC design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, load software, etc.

Familiarity with HVAC codes, standards, and best practices.

Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Top-notch organization, attention to detail combined with excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency in BIM, CFD, Energy Modeling or other advanced tools and methods for HVAC design and analysis.

Certification from ASHRAE, LEED, or other relevant organizations.

Experience in green building or energy efficiency projects, such as LEED, ENERGY STAR, or USGBC.

Commissioning experience.

Plumbing design experience.

Compensation and benefits are subject to eligibility requirements and may vary based on location and applicable laws. The pay range for this position will be provided in accordance with applicable state and local laws. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, geographic location, and business needs.

The estimate pay ranges for this role are as follows:

Virginia: $87,100-$111,700

Washington: $91,300-$117,100
