MBA Full-Time Hire - Strategic Finance & Business Operations

About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a lean but growing Strategic Finance & Business Operations team at a high-growth pre-IPO startup. You will play a critical role as an analytical thought partner to various leaders and teams across Verkada to drive business insights, decision-making rigor, and operational excellence, helping us reach the next level of scale and operating sophistication in the process. Depending on interest, we currently have roles open in our Product, GTM, and Corporate Finance pillars.

What You'll Do

Be the primary business partner to several of our senior leaders

Drive financial planning and budgeting as the accountable owner for key portions of our several hundred million dollar budget

Define the management dashboard / key operating metrics that help us understand the health of our business, and generate deep insights around our performance

Identify opportunities to improve resource allocation and operating efficiency, and work cross-functionally to tackle critical change projects to realize these opportunities

Help us operate the business at the next level of scale through better tooling, self-serve automation, and internal processes

What You'll Bring

3-5+ years of top tier professional experience. You’re coming to us from a Strategic Finance, Business Operations, Sales Operations, FP&A, or other highly analytical role at a fast growing company, and may have begun your career in investing, management consulting, and/or investment banking.

High analytical horsepower paired with strong modeling and data skills. You can effortlessly translate business concepts and frameworks to well structured spreadsheet models, and have the analytical toolkit to autonomously generate insights through data. Fluency in database concepts, SQL, and the latest AI tools is a big plus… you use AI to supercharge (not substitute for) your strong technical capabilities!

Attention to detail and strong strategic instincts. You are meticulous in ensuring your and others’ output is precise and error-free, but pair this with a strong sense for 80/20 to know when things “pass the smell test” and what is critical vs. secondary to an answer.

A growth mindset and comfort with ambiguity. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment that will require you to create structure out of ambiguity, manage often competing priorities, and pivot quickly when circumstances change.

Excellent communication and partnership skills. You can effectively engage with a diverse array of stakeholders ranging from sales reps to engineers, and build the credibility, relationships, and buy-in necessary to strike the delicate balance between partnering and constructive challenging that this role requires.

A team player with a low “ego to smarts ratio”. You bring a positive, learn-it-all (not know-it-all) energy to your teams, and are generally known for being great to work with. Life is short… we want to enjoy the time we spend with our colleagues!

Must be willing and able to work in office 5 days per week in San Mateo, California.

Must be graduating from an accredited MBA program in 2027.

Annual Pay Range

At Verkada, we want to attract and retain the best employees, and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company. With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate's skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of restricted stock units (RSUs)

Below is the annual on-target earnings (OTE) range for full-time employees for this position, comprised of base compensation and commissions (if applicable).
