About the role

The Sr. Director, Legal Innovation Partners is one of the most senior customer-facing leadership roles at NetDocuments. You will own the strategy, structure, and performance of the Legal Innovation Partner team — a group of senior practitioners embedded with NetDocuments' most strategic law firm and legal department clients to drive AI adoption, transformation, and long-term retention.

This is a revenue-accountable leadership role. You and your team are directly responsible for the renewal and expansion of a significant portion of NetDocuments' enterprise ARR. You will build the playbook for how NetDocuments partners with firms navigating AI transformation, and you will lead that motion personally with a portfolio of the firm's most complex, highest-value relationships.

What You’ll Do

Lead and develop the Legal Innovation Partner team, setting performance expectations, career development frameworks, and a culture of client-first excellence

Own a portfolio of strategic client relationships at the Sr. Director level, personally driving renewal, expansion, and executive-level engagement with firm leadership, CIOs, and innovation partners

Define and continuously refine the firm's AI transformation engagement model — from initial diagnostic through adoption milestones and renewal — in partnership with Product, Engineering, and Marketing

Collaborate with the VP of Customer Success, Sales, and Revenue Operations to forecast and manage the renewal pipeline, identify expansion opportunities, and escalate at-risk accounts proactively

Represent NetDocuments at industry conferences, client advisory boards, and legal technology forums as a thought leader in legal AI adoption and firm innovation strategy

Partner with Legal Solutions Directors and the broader Customer Success organization to ensure seamless coordination across client-facing functions

Hire, coach, and retain top Legal Innovation Partner talent, with a specific focus on building a team that can command credibility in conversations with law firm management committees and C-suite legal technology leaders

Define and monitor success metrics for the LIP team, including NRR, renewal rate, adoption scores, and client satisfaction — and hold the team accountable to them

Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need to be Successful

12+ years of experience in legal technology, legal operations, enterprise customer success, or a combination thereof — with at least 4 years in a leadership role

Deep understanding of law firm operations, legal department workflows, and the current state of AI adoption in the legal industry — you can have a peer-level conversation with a firm's Managing Partner, CIO, or Chief Innovation Officer

Demonstrated track record of owning and growing a book of business in a B2B SaaS or legal technology environment, including direct accountability for renewal and expansion outcomes

Experience building or leading customer success, professional services, or client advisory teams in enterprise technology

Strong executive presence and communication skills — you are as comfortable presenting to a firm's Management Committee as you are workshopping an adoption roadmap with a legal technology manager

JD or equivalent legal industry experience preferred. Prior law firm practice, legal operations leadership, or legal technology experience working with AmLaw 200 firms or large legal departments is a significant advantage

Familiarity with document management systems, legal AI platforms, and the broader LegalTech ecosystem

Ability to travel up to 30% to client sites, conferences, and internal team meetings.
