GTM Strategy & Operations Senior Associate
The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Associate to join our growing GTM Strategy & Operations team as the product owner for our GTM data and tooling products. Our team solves complex problems that require insight, creativity, and execution through building scalable processes, tools, and systems for our rapidly growing global business. You will own the roadmap, delivery, and adoption of the data products and sales productivity tools that power our Sales and Customer Success organizations, spanning both internally built products and third-party solutions, with decisions guided by speed, cost, scalability, and long-term maintainability. Doing this successfully requires a deep understanding of the “day in the life” for field teams, strong product management instincts, and the ability to translate business needs into build-versus-buy decisions and tooling solutions that help Datadog grow 10x.
At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.
You Will
Own the product roadmap: Set the vision, strategy, and prioritized roadmap for GTM data products and sales productivity tools. Balance field needs, business impact, technical feasibility, cost, and maintainability while making clear decisions about where to invest, consolidate, replace, or retire.
Run the end-to-end product lifecycle for in-house tools: Write requirements and user stories, define MVPs, establish acceptance criteria, manage the backlog, and partner with GTM Systems, Data Engineering, and Analytics to ship, iterate, and sunset internally built products.
Establish the product operating model: Create a consistent approach to intake, prioritization, roadmap planning, product ownership, release readiness, feedback collection, and lifecycle management across our portfolio of products.
Make build-versus-buy calls: Lead structured evaluations (e.g., RFPs, pilots, time-boxed POCs) of third-party tools against in-house alternatives, build business cases, and present investment recommendations to GTM leadership
Lead AI product strategy: Identify, evaluate, prototype, and scale AI-powered capabilities, whether built in-house or bought, that improve prospecting, enrichment, personalization, and rep workflows, and help define the forward-looking AI roadmap for the Sales and CS organizations
Measure impact: Define and track success metrics across every tool and data product (e.g., adoption, data quality, time saved, pipeline influenced) and use the findings to make data-driven decisions to invest, consolidate, or retire
Partner with the field: Work closely with Sales and Customer Success to uncover workflow pain points through interviews, workflow observation, usage analysis and feedback loops. Distinguish user problems from requested features and translate these opportunities into product improvements that directly increase rep productivity.
Lead launch and adoption: Own release planning, change management, and onboarding in collaboration with Sales Enablement so field teams get maximum value from every product
Ensure seamless integration: Work with GTM Systems to maintain and improve integrations between our tools, Salesforce CRM, and the broader GTM tech stack and data infrastructure
Set the standard: Build and enforce governance frameworks, acceptable use policies, and data hygiene standards across all managed tools and data products to ensure consistency and compliance
Requirements
Experience: 4-6+ years of experience in GTM Strategy & Operations, data or analytics roles, product management, or management consulting, ideally within SaaS or high-growth B2B technology
Product management fundamentals: Proven ability to take a product from problem definition through requirements, prioritization, launch, and iteration, including writing clear PRDs, user stories, scope tradeoffs, and communicating to technical and non-technical teams why the team will or will not invest in a request.
Build-versus-buy judgment: Experience weighing in-house development against third-party solutions on cost, speed, scalability, and strategic fit, and making a clear recommendation
Data fluency: Strong understanding of GTM data (contacts, accounts, intent and enrichment signals) and the ability to define data quality standards; comfortable with SQL and working with data warehouses and BI tools to analyze usage and outcomes
AI innovation: Strong interest in exploring, launching, and scaling new GTM AI technologies, including practical experience prototyping or deploying AI-enabled workflows
Cross-functional collaboration: Strong track record of partnering with Sales, CS, Engineering, and Data teams to identify pain points and deliver solutions from requirements through rollout
Analytical mindset: Comfortable defining product metrics, measuring adoption and ROI, and communicating findings clearly to senior stakeholders
CRM knowledge: Solid understanding of Salesforce CRM and how data products and sales tools integrate into the broader GTM tech stack
Communication: Effective communicator, both written and verbal, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ownership mentality: Self-starter who takes initiative, operates independently, and drives projects through to completion without heavy oversight
Bonus Points
SaaS background: Experience at a high-growth B2B SaaS company managing a GTM or sales tool portfolio or an internal data product
AI passion: Stays current on the latest AI news, has a passion for experimentation, has fully integrated AI into professional workflows, and vibe codes on the weekend
Technical aptitude: Working knowledge of APIs and how sales tools connect to CRM systems and data infrastructure; has shipped a prototype or internal tool of their own
Tool fluency: Hands-on familiarity with the B2B sales technology landscape, including contact intelligence (e.g., ZoomInfo, Cognism), outbound sequencing (e.g., Groove, Salesloft, Outreach), and data enrichment tools (e.g., Clay, Clearbit, Crunchbase)
Broader stack exposure: Familiarity with adjacent tools such as buyer intent platforms (e.g., Bombora, G2) or conversation intelligence (e.g., Gong)
Full-funnel experience: Experience supporting tool adoption across Sales Development, Account Executive, and Customer Success teams
