About the Role

The Group Director, Group Business Lead leads a group of Monks' most important and valuable client relationships, with responsibility for senior client stakeholders, group commercial health and the teams that serve them. This requires:

World-class ability to build client and platform relationships at the most senior levels

An exceptional track record of managing, retaining and growing accounts

Fearless ability to tell data-driven stories and extract key insights for senior-level clients

Deep, full-funnel understanding of the media landscape across Social, Search, Programmatic/Digital Investment, Holistic Video, OOH, and Direct Partnerships.

Experience managing and stewarding career growth for large, multi-disciplinary teams

Responsibilities:

Client & Commercial Leadership

Serve as the Monks lead point of contact with senior media client stakeholders across a group of accounts.

Own the commercial health of the group in partnership with department leadership: scopes, staffing plans, forecasting and organic growth.

Maintain in-depth knowledge of each client's business, including strategic priorities, historical performance, competitive threats and opportunities.

Ensure senior Monks leadership is proactively engaged in client needs and regularly updated on relationship health.

Strategic Leadership

Lead client teams in the development of go-to-market strategies and integrated, full-funnel media plans informed by rich consumer and industry insights, with a laser focus on connecting strategy to outcomes.

Champion AI-enabled workflows across planning, insight generation and reporting, applying senior judgment on where human strategy adds the most value.

Track and oversee client scorecards to ensure teams are set up to hit performance goals.

Team Leadership

Lead and manage Client Strategy Leads and Directors as direct reports, with accountability for the total output of the group's media teams.

Set teams up for success by establishing clear vision and goals, identifying training opportunities, facilitating cross-functional introductions and regularly offering constructive feedback.

Develop process improvements and best practices to ensure consistency, flexibility and efficiency in all internal and external outputs.

Relationship Management

Build relationships with top media platform partners and oversee client JBP activation.

Manage effective cross-agency partnership relationships (creative and media) and cross-Monks collaboration.

About You

The essentials:

15+ years of industry experience focused on client service, media strategy and digital media.

B2B experience is required

Eager to forge long-term client partnerships fueled by curiosity, data-driven strategies and brand-performance outcomes.

A master of traditional, digital and social media planning, buying and measurement.

Fluent in data and AI-enabled tools, with the analytical rigor to separate signal from noise.

Experienced in leading and managing growing teams in a high-pressure environment.

Exceptional attention to detail across communications and deliverables.

Not afraid to defect from the status quo in order to make our clients and company more successful.

BA or equivalent with emphasis on marketing, advertising, or business.

This role is subject to our Return to Office (RTO) policy. If you reside within a commutable distance of one of our office locations, you will be expected to work from the office a set number of days per week. The specific details, including the number of required office days, will be in accordance with the company’s then-current RTO policy, which is subject to change from time to time.

Monks has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what Monks may pay for the position at the time of posting. Monks may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on job-related factors, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.

Salary Range:

$165,000—$175,000 USD
