Block is one company built from many blocks, all united by the same purpose: economic empowerment. We build technology that increases access and independence for sellers, individuals, and artists around the world. Working at Block means working on and across our brands—Square, Cash App, Afterpay, TIDAL, Spiral, and Proto— in roles that connect, enable, and push all of them forward faster.

We’re remote-first by design and operate with intelligence at the center of everything we do. At Block, you'll be challenged by some of the brightest, most creative minds in the industry and have the tools and autonomy to do the most meaningful work of your career.

As Global Fulfillment Operations Specialist at Block, you’ll drive reliable day-to-day fulfillment of hardware across our global brands and markets. You’ll work through third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and alongside regional supplier managers to keep orders moving, resolve operational exceptions, improve inventory and shipment visibility, and strengthen the processes that connect our systems and fulfillment partners.

This individual contributor role combines hands-on operational execution, analytical problem-solving, and continuous improvement. You’ll independently own fulfillment outcomes, turning recurring issues into durable controls and scalable processes rather than repeated manual work.

Key Responsibilities

Global Fulfillment Execution & Partner Performance

Own fulfillment outcomes from order release through shipment confirmation for customer orders, replacements, inventory transfers, and other fulfillment flows.

Monitor order accuracy, processing timeliness, backlog, holds, and shipment exceptions; coordinate recovery and prioritize work within established business guidelines.

Drive outcomes through 3PL partners, ensuring they own their commitments rather than transferring recurring work to Block.

Partner with regional supplier managers on service expectations, performance reviews, capacity risks, and operational improvements.

Maintain clear escalation paths and cross-time-zone handoffs; support continuity and recovery during disruptions.

Manage actionable reporting on fulfillment performance, exceptions, and corrective actions; use data to prioritize and measure improvements.

Systems, Inventory & Operational Controls

Investigate order, inventory, and shipment discrepancies across systems.

Coordinate inventory reconciliation and resolution of interface failures, missing transactions, configuration errors, and data issues with the appropriate owners.

Validate system and process changes before and after implementation.

Maintain warehouse procedures and controls that ensure accurate execution, traceability, and reliable handoffs.

Continuous Improvement & Launch Readiness

Identify recurring failures and manual work; eliminate, automate, or simplify them through root-cause improvements.

Independently lead defined improvement initiatives through implementation and measured results.

Build standard work, self-service resources, and exception-management processes that reduce individual intervention.

Enable product launches, new markets and channels, and warehouse or system transitions by testing fulfillment flows and closing readiness gaps.

Supplier Cost Management & Billing Controls

Validate fulfillment supplier invoices against contracted rates, actual activity, and approved charges; resolve discrepancies and track credits through closure.

Monitor spend and cost per order, investigate variances, and identify savings opportunities without compromising service.

Partner with supplier managers and Finance to improve billing accuracy, cost reporting, and automated controls that prevent recurring errors.

Qualifications

Required Experience & Skills

5+ years of relevant experience in fulfillment, order management, warehouse operations, logistics, or supply chain, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Practical knowledge of ERP, order-management, and warehouse-management systems, including investigating transaction and inventory discrepancies.

Strong analytical skills and proficiency with driving controls through operational reporting.

Demonstrated ability to independently manage operational workflows, resolve exceptions, and deliver defined improvement projects.

Ability to identify root causes and build repeatable solutions rather than rely on recurring manual intervention

Ability to influence internal stakeholders and external partners without direct authority.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Oracle or comparable ERP platforms.

Experience supporting global hardware fulfillment across direct-to-consumer, retail, or business-to-business channels.

Familiarity with integrations between ERP, order-management, and 3PL warehouse systems.

Experience building dashboards, automated reporting, or workflow automation.

Experience supporting product launches, warehouse transitions, or fulfillment-system changes.

Working knowledge of international logistics and the handoffs between fulfillment, freight, and trade compliance.
