ABOUT THE ROLE:

As one of Notion’s founding Demo Engineers, you’ll build the global demo engine behind how we bring Notion’s most important customer stories to life. You’ll shape the standards, systems, and experiences that help our Sales teams demonstrate what is possible with Notion, from the first customer conversation through implementation and deployment.

This is a high-impact opportunity to create the function from the ground up. You’ll establish global standards, turn our strongest customer solutions into repeatable demos, and give regional teams the tools and autonomy to innovate. Your work will directly influence how customers understand Notion’s platform, AI capabilities, and potential to transform how their organizations work.

This role reports to the Global Head of Acquisition and partners closely with Sales, Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE), Enablement, and PMM.

This role can be based in either San Francisco or New York City. We work from our offices on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (our Anchor Days) because we do our best thinking and building together in person. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to work alongside the team during those days.

WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE:

- Build the global demo engine that brings Notion’s most important customer stories to life

- Partner with Enablement and PMM to define the core narratives, scripts, environments, and assets for each demo

- Create a durable release and versioning process so demos stay current as the product evolves

- Automate repeatable setup and maintenance wherever possible so the system can scale globally

- Turn Notion’s strongest customer and internal solutions into reusable GTM assets

- Identify high-impact use cases and transform them into repeatable, field-ready demos

- Partner with FDE to package customer solutions, implementation guidance, and technical patterns into demos the field can confidently deliver

- Work with GTM Systems to translate demos into workspaces that can be deployed in customer environments

- Set the global standard for demo quality and help the field deliver it

- Define what great looks like for each demo moment, from the first customer conversation to a tailored technical experience

- Train and coach customer-facing teams on storytelling, environment setup, delivery, and troubleshooting

- Partner with Enablement to create practical resources and programs that raise demo quality across regions

- Create a clear path from experimentation to global scale

- Give customer-facing teams a structured way to safely build, test, and pilot new demo concepts

- Evaluate the strongest ideas and turn them into scalable standards, templates, and reusable assets

- Serve as the strategic demo partner for high-impact opportunities

- Advise teams on custom or personalized demos that fall outside the standard portfolio

- Help teams balance customer relevance, technical credibility, and speed without compromising quality

SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING:

- 5+ years in a technical or customer-facing role such as Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Demo Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or Software Engineering

- Experience designing and delivering technical demos, prototypes, or solution experiences for a SaaS product

- Strong systems thinking, with experience building scalable standards, templates, documentation, versioning practices, and operating processes

- Ability to translate complex product capabilities into clear, compelling customer stories tied to business value

- Technical fluency across APIs, integrations, automation, data, permissions, and enterprise security concepts

- Working proficiency with scripting or automation tools such as Python or JavaScript

- Experience partnering across Sales, Product, Engineering, Enablement, and Marketing to drive alignment and deliver shared outcomes

- Strong communication and coaching skills, with the ability to raise the capabilities of customer-facing teams

- Comfort creating structure, setting priorities, and making progress in a fast-moving environment with evolving requirements

NICE TO HAVES:

- Experience building or scaling a demo engineering, solutions engineering, or technical enablement function

- Experience with enterprise sales cycles and complex, multi-stakeholder customer environments

- Hands-on experience with demo automation platforms such as Consensus, Navattic, Reprise, Storylane, or Demostack

- Experience supporting major product launches or global go-to-market programs

- Familiarity with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor

- Experience with productivity, collaboration, AI, or horizontal SaaS products

- Notion power user
