Gardening Instructor
What you’ll be doing:
This is a 1099 Contract
Schedule: Wednesdays; Four, 1-hour classes
The Gardening instructor teaches patients about botany, ecology, and nutrition through hands-on outdoor learning. They blend curriculum with garden maintenance, leading classes on subjects like plant life cycles, composting, and food systems. Responsibilities include developing lesson plans and managing outdoor garden space.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Instruction: Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons to patients in outdoor garden environments.
Garden Maintenance: Oversee the upkeep of garden beds, including seasonal planting, weeding, composting, and irrigation.
Safety: Maintain a safe, respectful environment, establishing clear rules for tool use and outdoor exploration.
Must haves:
High School Diploma or GED
Bonus qualities:
Bachelor's degree in horticulture, environmental education, botany, or equivalent practical experience.
Familiarity with organic gardening, sustainable agriculture, and basic plant science
