The Problems You'll Solve

At Carta, our employees set out on a mission to unlock the power of equity ownership for more people in more places. We believe that the problems we solve today unlock the opportunities of tomorrow. As a Junior Funds Paralegal, you'll work to:

Prepare initial drafts of LP transfer documents (transfer agreements, consents, subscription agreements)

Liaise with transfer parties on process and timings, and assist with execution workflows

Work closely with lawyers and senior paralegals, contributing to high-quality client delivery across fast-moving, high-volume matters

Build commercial and legal expertise over time, with opportunities to take ownership of client accounts and progress towards qualification as a practicing legal professional.

The Team You'll Work With

You will be joining our Funds team in the Americas Region.

Carta Law is the largest AI-native law firm for private capital, born from the combination of Avantia Law and Carta. Our lawyers and paralegals work alongside embedded AI agents to deliver investor onboarding, transaction KYC, and high-volume legal work with a speed and consistency that traditional law firms simply can't match. As a Junior Paralegal, you will rotate across or specialise within one of three practice areas depending on your strengths and interests.

Carta’s London and Denmark locations are a product of our 2022 acquisitions of Capdesk and Vauban. Now operating as one global Carta entity, our U.K. and Denmark locations will  enhance the Carta platform with Capdesk and Vauban as proprietary products.Click the links to read more about the acquisition of Capdesk from Carta and Vauban from Carta

About You

Eager to learn and grow. You are motivated, curious, and excited to develop expertise in legal practice – whether that is compliance, contracts, or funds.

Organised and efficient. You prioritise well, manage competing deadlines, and keep matters moving without losing attention to detail.

A strong communicator. You write and speak clearly and professionally, understanding that our clients expect crisp, concise advice.

A self-starter. You take initiative, work independently when needed, and proactively flag issues before they become problems.

A team player. You collaborate effectively with lawyers, senior paralegals, and client-facing teams across a fast-paced environment.

Legally educated (preferred). An undergraduate Law degree or equivalent is preferred; a GDL is welcome. Prior exposure to LP Transfer processes is a plus but not required.

At Carta, you’re not just an employee. You’re a builder who is creating  infrastructure that accelerates innovation and empowers more ownership. Cartans are helpful, relentless, unconventional and kind; representing Carta’s Identity Traits. They work collaboratively and cross functionally  to challenge the status quo; working towards a common goal of creating more owners in the private markets.
