Engineering Manager, Cloud Platform
Greenhouse is looking for an Engineering Manager to join our team!
This role sits on our Cloud Platform team. Reporting to the Director of Platform Engineering, this people management role will lead engineers responsible for core AWS cloud foundations and our Kubernetes platform, helping ensure our infrastructure is scalable, secure, resilient, and cost-effective for internal engineering teams and our customers.
As the Engineering Manager, you’ll set technical priorities across cloud infrastructure, reliability, security, and cost management while creating the conditions for your team to do their best work. You’ll partner closely with Security and the broader Platform leadership group on shared standards, roadmaps, incident response, and cross-team priorities.

What you’ll do
Lead, coach, and develop a team of engineers; manage performance and create the conditions for them to do their best work
Own AWS cloud foundations across compute, networking, identity, and core services, serving as the team’s technical owner and primary escalation point
Drive cloud cost observability and attribution by establishing and refining tagging, reporting, and accountability practices
Recommend and execute commitment-based AWS cost strategies, including evaluating and managing Savings Plans and Reserved Instances based on usage forecasts
Set and communicate technical priorities for the team, balancing reliability, security, cost, and delivery against department and company objectives
Ensure the platform remains scalable, secure, and resilient and continues to meet the needs of internal engineering teams and our customers
Partner closely with the Security team and the broader Platform management group on shared standards, infrastructure roadmaps, incident response, and cross-team priorities
You should have
5+ years of experience working within a cloud platform or infrastructure-focused organization
Proven track record of technical prioritization and managing Kubernetes at scale in production, including cluster lifecycle and upgrades
Strong, hands-on familiarity with the AWS ecosystem, including compute, networking, IAM/identity, and core services
Experience leading, coaching, or managing engineers through formal people management or significant tech lead responsibility, with a record of growing and retaining talent
Experience with infrastructure as code and GitOps practices such as Terraform and Helm, and managing change across shared infrastructure
Clear communication skills with the ability to align technical priorities to department and company objectives and partner across security, engineering, and leadership

The national pay range for this role is $129,000 - $175,000 CAD. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications. Certain roles may be eligible for additional compensation, including stock option awards, bonuses, and merit increases. Additionally, certain roles have the opportunity to receive sales commissions that are based on the terms of the sales commission plan applicable to the role.
