Director of AI, Operations
iFIT’s vision is to create the world's most holistic health and fitness platform, integrating all elements of health - physical fitness, mental health, nutrition and active recovery - into a seamless interactive experience. We develop proprietary software that learns and adjusts to the habits of each person as it delivers immersive content that guides them on their own individual fitness journey.
iFIT is creating a new role at the intersection of AI innovation and enterprise operations. The Director of AI, Operations is not a consultant, a project manager, or a theorist. This is a builder and a multiplier. You will design and deploy AI agents, tools, and workflows that make every function inside Operations meaningfully more capable and then you will raise the AI fluency of the entire Operations leadership team so the gains compound.
This role sits at the Director level and reports directly to the COO. You will work across every Operations function including S&OP, Member Care, Quality, Procurement, Logistics, and Customs. You will partner directly with IT and Data Engineering to release enterprise-ready solutions, coordinate a dotted-line network of AI SMEs embedded across Operations functions, and serve as iFIT's internal AI authority for everything Operations touches.
We are not looking for someone who has spent a career inside a large, slow-moving company. We want someone who has built things under pressure, created them, and done it again. If you have startup DNA and enterprise awareness, this role was written for you.
COMMITMENTS
Build and Deploy
Design, build, and deploy AI agents and AI-powered tools that solve real operational problems across S&OP, Member Care, Quality, Procurement, Logistics, and Customs
Develop enterprise-ready applications that can be released globally, built to IT and Data Engineering standards from day one
Partner with IT and Data Engineering teams to integrate solutions into existing enterprise systems including ERP and CRM platforms
Audit current workflows across all Operations functions to identify the highest-value opportunities for AI and intelligent automation
Evaluate the AI tool landscape and bring a clear, defensible point of view on what iFIT should build, buy, or avoid
Lead and Multiply
Coordinate a dotted-line network of AI SMEs embedded across Operations functions, acting as their mentor, escalation point, and connective tissue
Raise the AI skills of the entire Operations leadership team through hands-on enablement, not just training decks
Build a culture of AI curiosity and applied experimentation across Operations so this work outlasts any single project
Serve as the internal AI authority for Operations, representing the function in cross-company AI strategy conversations
Measure and Communicate
Document processes before and after implementation so every gain is measurable and defensible to the COO and executive team
Translate complex technical solutions into plain language that operations leaders and frontline managers can act on
Produce a rolling AI roadmap for Operations that gives leadership visibility into what is in progress, what is next, and what has shipped
WHAT YOU BRING
We are not prescribing a specific number of years of experience. We are looking for demonstrated outcomes. The right candidate can show us something they built, explain the problem it solved, and tell us what happened next
You are the right fit if you can say yes to all of these:
You have built and shipped AI agents or AI-powered applications that are currently in use in a real environment, not a proof of concept sitting in a repo
You write code at a working level. Python, JavaScript, or a similar language. You build from scratch when you need to and you know when not to
You have released enterprise-ready applications at scale, with an understanding of how to work within IT governance, security requirements, and global deployment standards
You know how to work with IT and Data Engineering teams as a peer, not a requester. You speak their language and they trust your judgment
You have coordinated or mentored a distributed group of technical contributors and made them collectively more capable
You have brought external knowledge into an organization and changed how people think about what is possible with AI
You communicate clearly and directly. You can explain what you built and why it matters to a COO who has never written a line of code
THE FIXER STANDARD
We have a name for the mentality this role requires. A Fixer does not wait for a ticket. They identify the real problem, separate noise from signal, understand the system well enough to fix it, take ownership of the solution, and ask whether what they are building will still work tomorrow, not just today.
This role asks you to be that person and to build that mentality in everyone around you. If that description makes you lean in, keep reading. If it makes you uncomfortable, this is probably not the right seat.
PREFERRED BACKGROUND
Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field
Hands-on experience building with LLMs, AI agents, multi-agent frameworks, or production-grade AI systems
Familiarity with API integrations and the ability to connect enterprise systems that were not designed to talk to each other
Experience in or adjacent to a startup environment where shipping fast and owning outcomes was the expectation, not the exception
Track record of working across functions and earning trust with business leaders who are skeptical of technology for its own sake
Experience coordinating dotted-line teams, cross-functional working groups, or distributed SME networks
Demonstrated ability to raise the technical capability of non-technical stakeholders through enablement, not just presentation
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
In your first 90 days:
You have completed a full AI opportunity audit across all Operations functions and produced a prioritized roadmap
You have shipped at least one working AI agent or tool that is in active use inside an Operations function
You have established working relationships with IT, Data Engineering, and the dotted-line AI SME network
Operations leaders are asking for your help and bringing you into their planning conversations
By the end of year one:
Multiple AI agents and workflows are deployed across Operations functions with measurable reductions in manual effort, error rates, or cycle time
The Operations leadership team has meaningfully higher AI fluency than when you arrived, demonstrated by how they talk about and use AI in their own functions
A dotted-line AI SME network is active, coordinated, and producing results across functions
iFIT has a documented, rolling AI roadmap for Operations that the COO can present to the executive team with confidence
The business case for a formal AI team within Operations has been built and is being acted on
