The Opportunity:

The Director, Customer Engagement, Germany leads the commercial strategy and execution for the Oncology portfolio, including product launches, brand strategy, omnichannel engagement and customer experience.

The role connects Product Management, Omnichannel, Field Force, Medical Affairs, Business Excellence and other customer-facing functions, ensuring European and global strategies are translated into locally relevant, data-driven execution.

Rather than serving as a traditional planning and approval point, this leader enables an agile, cross-functional Commercial System focused on speed, relevance and customer centricity.

This role reports to the Senior Director, Commercial, Germany.

Primary responsibilities

Product Launch & Commercial Readiness Leadership

Provide overall commercial leadership and accountability for product launches in Germany, ensuring strategic alignment, organizational readiness and successful market execution.

Set the overarching commercial launch strategy and direction, translating European strategies into a compelling and locally relevant launch approach.

Orchestrate cross-functional launch readiness across Marketing, Field Force, Business Excellence, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and other relevant functions, ensuring clear priorities, ownership and alignment.

Strategic Portfolio and Marketing Leadership

Overall responsibility for strategic direction of product and brand portfolio.

Ensure a coherent connection between Brand, Product and Customer Engagement strategies.

Take responsibility for the commercial performance of the portfolio in close collaboration with the Field Force, Business Excellence, Medical Affairs, and Market Access.

Leadership of the Integrated Marketing & Omnichannel System

Directly lead and develop Senior Product Managers, (Junior) Product Managers and Senior Omnichannel Manager.

Build and lead an integrated, agile Marketing operating model within a high-performing, learning-oriented and data-driven Marketing organization.

Ensure structured, day-to-day collaboration between Product Management and Omnichannel Management.

Foster a culture of ownership, speed and cross-functional excellence.

Omnichannel & Customer Experience Leadership

Overall responsibility for the end-to-end Customer Experience across the Oncology portfolio.

Ensure consistent, cross-channel and data-driven customer engagement in close collaboration with the Senior Omnichannel Manager.

Further develop an integrated Customer Engagement model together with the Field Force (SOAMs and ABLs) and other Customer-Facing functions.

Ensure the consistent translation of Marketing strategies into actionable Customer Journeys and content.

Integration with Field Force

Work closely with Area Business Leads (ABL) and Senior Oncology Account Managers (SOAMs) to ensure consistent execution in the market.

Establish a structured feedback loop between the Field Force and Marketing functions.

Share responsibility for the effective activation of Marketing and Omnichannel initiatives in the market.

European Alignment

Serve as a key interface to the European Marketing and Omnichannel organization.

Ensure effective alignment between European strategy and direction with local execution.

Actively contribute to European strategic and platform initiatives with the aim of building a scalable Customer Engagement architecture.

Leverage European best practices to continuously develop the local Marketing organization.

Innovation, Data & Transformation

Foster a data-driven and technology-enabled Marketing organization.

Actively engage with developments in Data, Digital, AI and Advanced Analytics within the Healthcare and Oncology environment.

Support the organization in evaluating emerging technologies and their potential relevance for Customer Engagement and Commercial Impact.

Drive the continuous development of Marketing and Omnichannel capabilities across the team.

Required Skills, Experience and Education:

Successful candidates combine strategic commercial leadership with strong execution, digital acumen and cross-functional influence.

University degree in Natural Sciences, Medicine, Pharmacy, Business Administration or a comparable field

Several years of senior marketing leadership experience in oncology

Experience leading product launches, portfolio management, omnichannel initiatives and cross-functional teams

Proven experience working within international and/or European Marketing organizations

Strong understanding of modern digital and data-driven Marketing models

Excellent communication, facilitation, influencing and stakeholder management skills in complex cross-functional environments
