Project Introduction

The Department of Veterans Affairs Cybersecurity Operations and Services Enterprise (COSE) program delivers the enterprise cybersecurity operations, engineering, architecture, risk, and compliance support that safeguards VA systems, data, and mission delivery. The team helps strengthen the cyber resilience of the digital services relied on by Veterans, their families, and the VA workforce.

9th Way Insignia is seeking a Cybersecurity Architect to support this program. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities

Define and assess enterprise security architectures that support Zero Trust, cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.

Develop architecture roadmaps, reference patterns, security requirements, and transition plans.

Analyze system designs, integrations, data flows, identity patterns, and control dependencies for security and interoperability risks.

Advise technical teams and leadership on security architecture decisions, tradeoffs, and remediation priorities.

Produce architecture diagrams, design documentation, and executive-ready briefings.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

Ten or more years of enterprise security architecture, systems architecture, or cybersecurity engineering experience.

Demonstrated knowledge of Zero Trust, identity and access management, network segmentation, cloud security, and security frameworks such as NIST and RMF.

Experience designing or evaluating security architecture in a large enterprise or Government environment.

Ability to communicate complex architecture decisions clearly to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

Salary Range

$98,135—$150,000 USD
