Corporate Development & M&A Analyst (Part Time)
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented student to support our Corporate Development & M&A team within the telecommunications industry in a blended analyst/administrative capacity. This role is ideal for a current undergraduate or graduate student interested in gaining hands-on exposure to both the administrative operations and early-stage analytical work of a fast-paced corporate development function. Working approximately 20 hours per week, this individual will split time between general administrative support (scheduling, document organization, data management) and introductory analyst tasks (basic research, spreadsheet and data support, and assistance with deal materials).
Key Responsibilities:
Organize, label, and maintain deal files, virtual data rooms, and transaction trackers, ensuring documents are accurately filed and version-controlled
Assist with the preparation, formatting, and proofreading of presentations, deal summaries, board materials, and other Corporate Development deliverables in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
Support tracking of due diligence request lists and follow up with internal stakeholders on outstanding items and deadlines
Take notes during internal working sessions and assist in distributing action items and follow-ups
Assist with maintaining confidentiality logs, NDA tracking, and organized records of executed transaction documents
Conduct basic research on companies, industry trends, and market data within the telecommunications sector to support the team as needed
Assist analysts and deal team members with populating financial model templates, comparable company lists, and precedent transaction summaries using data provided or gathered under supervision
Help compile and organize competitor and target company profiles, industry benchmarking data, and market sizing inputs for review by senior team members
Support basic data validation and updates within valuation and deal-tracking spreadsheets, flagging discrepancies for analyst or manager review
Maintain deal trackers and pipeline reporting logs under the guidance of team members
Perform other general administrative duties as assigned, including travel coordination and ad hoc project support
Qualifications
Education:
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program, preferably in Business Administration, Pre-Law, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
Experience:
Prior internship, part-time office, or coursework experience involving business, finance, financial modeling, or administrative work is a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
Coursework or demonstrated interest in corporate finance, M&A, investment banking, or the telecommunications industry
Prior internship, work-study, or student organization experience involving administrative, research, or project coordination work
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Basic understanding of financial statements and valuation concepts (e.g., from coursework in corporate finance, accounting, or financial modeling)
Soft Skills:
Strong sense of discretion and professionalism when handling highly confidential and market-sensitive information
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines and deliverables simultaneously
Ability to work collaboratively within a small, fast-paced, cross-functional team and take direction proactively
Strong time-management skills and flexibility to balance a 20-hour weekly schedule around academic coursework
Technology Stack:
Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
Microsoft Teams and SharePoint for collaboration and file management
Familiarity with virtual data room platforms (e.g., Datasite, Intralinks) is a plus, but not required
Video conferencing tools (Teams, Zoom) for coordinating with internal teams and external advisors
Physical Requirements
Ability to work in a standard office environment and use a computer for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 25bs.
Ability to commit to a consistent weekly schedule of approximately 20 hours, primarily during standard business hours
